First time at Disney: Contempory, Polynesian, GF?

We are headed to Disney for our first time the last week of April 2015. We are taking our 4 year old daughter and we want some feedback on where to stay. We booked a Theme Park view room at the Contemporary but we are second guessing the decision. We are wondering if we should change to the Grand Floridian or the Polynesian, or is the contemporary theme park view room the right choice. We would greatly appreciate all feedback

We would not do a theme park view room at GF or Polynesian because of the cost increase. We chose the contemporary for two reasons, ease of getting around and the theme park view room for nightly fireworks. We had some people tell us to think about staying at poly or GF because they are a bit nicer and might make for a better experience, and they said the night fireworks can be viewed from both of those resorts beaches.

Last question, we booked directly through disney, is that the best thing to do from a pricing perspective. Are there any deals we might not be aware of.

Don't doubt your instinct -- you made a good choice, I would stick with TPV at CR. You can view the fireworks from your balcony, every night.

CR TPV is on my resort bucket list so I wouldn't change it. Proximity to MK is a huge deal to me!

You will love the CR, the location can't be beat and the rooms are spacious. Have a great trip!

I thought the "magical" travel agent had the lowest rates? We stayed last August at the Poly for $189 per night. Is Disney offering lower rates?

That is a great hotel choice you already made. Very close to the park and you can see the fireworks from your room. I personally have not stayed at the Polynesian but I do know you can see the fireworks from the hotel. From your room all depends on location of your room. I always stay at the Grand Floridian when I go to Disney. I know you can see the fireworks from the hotel and you can see them from your room depending on your location also.

You really did make an amazing choice. CR theme park view is on my resort bucket list so you picked well.

As of now, Disney has not released any discounts that extend into April 2015 other than the pin code for room only discounts. This would have arrived to you via mail or email but you can also call Disney to ask if you had any pin codes available. If you do, they can check to see what room options are available for your dates. If you do not have a pin code available, you can keep an eye/ear out for discounts Disney releases in the future. If they offer ones that includes your dates all you need to do is call Disney and tell them you want to see if that offer can be applied for your vacation. It's pretty easy.

As far as travel agents go, I have never used one so I can't offer any advice.
