First time at AKV, any hints/tips?

We are planning a trip in May, haven't told the kids so far (really bad at keeping secrets). We usually stay at BLT since we bought there in 2010. I booked a 1BR standard view. Any tips or hints with regard to the pools, dining, or animal viewing locations/ times? Thanks!
