My daughter and family (two boys ages 8 and 6) are staying at AKL for the first time in May. The boys love the pools with slides - any suggestions as to which area she should stay - I believe Kadani & Jambo were available.

Kadani has a great Kids area by the pool, but you can use either pool while staying at the resort. I prefer Jambo so we are closer to the food court (Mara). Rooms are bigger at Kidani so it's just a matter of preference.

I'd vote for Jambo because there's a counter serve resturant right there and Boma for buffet meals. With two young boys, it's not as easy to walk.

We stayed at Kidani last August and used the pool there as well as at Jambo. My kids preferred the pool at Kidani, also the kids splash area is great. We took the shuttle over to Jambo if we wanted to eat, so just depends what's more important I guess!

Either way you'll love the resort, it's amazing!

We are DVC owners who own at AKL and have stayed there multiple times at both Kidani and Jambo House.

You really cannot go wrong with either, but keep in mind if you're using the buses, Kidani gets picked up first for theme parks (opposite for Downtown Disney).

Also, if you have a car, Kidani has underground parking, which is typically just an elevator ride up to your room as opposed to a longer walk from the Jambo House parking lot.

Of course, Jambo House is bigger and the pool area is bigger and has a food court.

Jambo House has really fun kid's activities daily. Kidani has the African Cultural Ambassadors who do presentations in the library (the highlight of our trip last June).

However, all of Kidani is DVC, so even in the studios, you will have a small kitchenette.

The only thing that bothered me about AKL Jambo house was the HUGE, long walk back to our room, after being at the parks all day...

But ..I did love watching the animals from my balcony!

Kidani's hallways are the longest on property and can make a former guest long for the days of the relatively "short" BWV or Jambo hallways.
Kidani is not bad if your going to a car, because there's a few elevators that take you straight down to the under-room parking garage.

For a family, I would only use a 1BR (or 2BR) in Kidani because you get 2 (or 3) bathrooms/vanities and a dedicated shower.
Vs Jambo 1BR only has 1 bathroom with 1 vanity and the shower is a high step into the jacuzzi tub.

I'd lean Jambo for a studio or GV, though.
