First time at AKL , will i like it?

My dd and i are going to stay there , I got a good rate with the email code. Will i enjoy the resort ? and how do they thave buses to pleasure Island in the evening and do they have buses back from Pleasure island.? Thanks any advice would be great!

I really don't know about the bus to PI- but we loved this resort. Beautiful inside and out. Very friendly staff, great gift shop, beautiful lobby. Do the storytelling activity in the evening, and have fun watching the animals. Savannah view is nice to have, but not absolutely necessary. There are plenty of viewing areas all around. I found the lobby to be as interesting as the animals. The pool is also so big, that it was never really crowded when we were there last summer (July 2003)

We just returned from this resort a few days ago and we all really loved it. The lobby is gorgeous, Boma was great and everyone adored the pool. I enjoyed exploring the hotel in the evening. I found lots of African artwork and displays and there's quite a few places to view the animals from.

We took the bus to Downtown Disney once and if I remember right (please confirm this) the buses would make a final run from Downtown Disney to AK at 2:15 AM. There are two stops at DD; one at the Marketplace and one right in between Pleasure Island and the West End behind Planet Hollywood. The buses do take a very long route to get to DD and back but the ride was pleasant.

YES, buses from AKL to all of Disney areas are available. The last bus leaving Downtown Disney/Pleasure Island is posted by the bus schedule listing as:

Last Bus from Pleasure Island leaves at 2:00am EXACTLY for all Disney Resort locations only. These buses DO NOT travel to any other park only resorts. Please have your resort ID available (room card key) for the driver if asked.

The Island closes at 2am so you want to leave just a bit early to get out to the bus area.

hey there everyone... I was wondering what time the storytelling takes place in september (14th).I have a 5:10 ps for boma and want to make sure that I will have time to eat and make it to the storytelling since only at the AKL for one night before switching resorts...

Storytelling at Arusha Rock, located outside at the back of the lobby (oppostie of the front entrance <smile>) is usually held nightly. Times, well I don't want to give you wrong information only because they may change, because it is an outside venue.

All of the activities at the AKL resort are conducted by CMs from the Internatial Cast, meaning these CMs are from Africa. Times for all activites are posted DAILY on the activities bulletin board located next to the bell stand in the lobby. Times are not usually printed anywhere at all other than this location. WHY? Well, times and locations could change because of weather or certain situations/events that may be happening in the ususal locations. Please don't take this as a way to just get you information, this is the truth. If it rains and the location is usually outside it will change to an inside location. I hope this helps in some small way.
