First time and going very soon! Any Tips?

I am going on m honeymoon to Disneyland 8/18-8/20/14 With Magic Morning on one day and the possibility of a fourth day.

Is there any strategies that you recommend? We do have a park hopper pass but we may just do a park per day unless you have tips!

Any info would be amazing. Any ideas to get the most bang for our buck! I have never been but want to enjoy it the best as possible not just in line all day!

First off, congrats! DH and I went to DL for our honeymoon 15 years ago and we are taking DS there in a few weeks to celebrate!

CONGRATS!!! 31 years ago we spent our honeymoon at Disneyland also.....it was the start of a very magical life. Wishing the same for you!!!

I'm a WDW vet who just returned from my first trip on Friday. My number one tip is be there at opening each day. We never made it to "rope drop" but did manage to arrive just after official opening time at each park. I was shocked at how much we were able to do on our early arrival days. The difference between starting at opening and arriving just an hour later is dramatic!! I truly can't stress arriving early enough, if we hadn't arrived early we would never have done everything we wanted.

This is true if you are an early riser

BUT, We go as late as possible and always with extra Magic Hours.
Do all the stuff that's open late during the day ...parades, shows etc...
at night all the rides
the lines get smaller and smaller to nothing as it gets later.
plus it is a lot cooler at night
We never wait in lines that are longer then 15 to 20 min
And we ride a ton of things

Do the park hopper for 4 days! It is so easy to hop so when it is crowded at one park you can hop over to the other. You also have more choices for meals as well. The flexibility with the hoppers makes your days less stressful and you can relax without feeling that you might miss something.

Take the time to enjoy being there! Take the time to take it all in! Stop at all the Photopass photographers and get your picture taken.

We always hit Peter Pan first thing since it is always busy.

also, find a CM at the Mark Twain Riverboat and ask if you can visit the wheelhouse to be the captain. If you are wearing your just married buttons you can get some special perks on things. My wife and I were there on our honeymoon and they gave us our own boat on small world and the Storybook Land Canal boats

Congratulations! So many people on this thread who went as honeymooners! Love it! It's where we spent our honeymoon, too, but only last year.

Some general thoughts:

We got a lot of "congratulations" and pixie dust wearing the bride/groom Mickey ears... Headed to the front of the line a few times, free desserts, a trip on the Lilly Belle when they were "all full." DH said he felt "silly" wearing the tux ears, but admitted he liked the pixie dust

Take as many pictures as possible! In our case, we were married "later" in life--in our mid30s/early40s--and we already have 3 kids and 2 grandbabies between us. Our honeymoon was about the first time ever when we were able to have pictures of just "us". ... And years from now, if you happen to have children, they will likely love to see you guys "back in 2014!" I love our family pictures, of course, but also appreciate the pictures of just DH and I, remembering the love that brought our family together! Remember that Photopass Photographers will take your picture with your camera, too!

Park hop! The parks are so close together (literally, a 90-second walk from one gate to the other). We enjoyed being able to go from park to park to ride whatever we wanted when we wanted. We liked making reservations for lunch/dinner, but not having to be in that specific park all day just because of that. And when we had Fast Passes for Radiator Springs Racers (on a bad day, where it kept breaking down), we were able to go to DL, and return DCA to see if RSR was up, without being tied down to DCA. And we were able to head to RSR one day, ride early, and then go over to DL, to ride our other favorite rides.

Make good use of Fast Passes!

We enjoy getting to the parks after we wake up... Once a vacation we make sure to go at Rope Drop to get a lot of rides done quickly in the morning. But, more typically, we would sleep in a bit, and then just close the parks down. Of course, this depends on if you are more of a night owl, or an early bird!
