I am coming on Black Friday to spend 2 days at Universal before our Disney trip. Was that a mistake? If I stay at a US hotel will it help a little with the lines? I am thinking of the Portofino

Also I am getting in late afternoon on Friday, will probably not hit the park til after 5pm friday then spend all day Saturday. Is there a "twilight" ticket or should I buy the 2-day park to park online?

I think that was 3 questions :)

i always do my disney stay first.
then i move over to universal resorts.

it is too difficult for me to give up the extras that i get onsite at the darkside..
then do disney later.

if you want to stay onsite, call now and make the ressie.
you are about 2 weeks out right now from your trip if i have that correct.

no twilight tickets.
if you don't know if you want park hoppers, just buy the two day park only ones.
you can upgrade at guest services once you use them, just pay the difference for the upgrade.
since you are arriving late, buy a one day ticket in case you don't hit the parks on that friday.
you can upgrade to the 2 park hoppers later.

by staying onsite, you won't be concerned about long lines for the rides and shows.

pull up the park hours calendar to check when park closing will be on that friday.
in case you don't get to your hotel until after 6, it won't be to your advantage to do the parks if they close at 7 that evening.

like i said in the above post, the express lines will save you time in lines, the parks will probably be crowded.

it's the Tday weekend and peeps will be there due to the extended weekend.
