First summer trip in years.(Is it just me?)

Just arrived home yesterday after a week @ wdw. I saw a few things that concerned me. Let me first say that I really enjoyed my trip as usual. For the last several years we have been going to wdw between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but my dd is getting to old and active in school functions so we decided to take a summer trip. Some things that concerned me were that many(but not all) of the young cm's seemed to be totally unemotional and just going through the everyday motions. This was not just at one spot but in many spots and parks. Maybe there are cm's working just for the summer. Another thing I noticed was there were many dead or dying plants and more trash. Cosmic Rays dinning area was disgusting. I know there is less respect for others by some customers and that contributes to the increase in the mess, but the grounds usually are kept clean. I just have to get this one instance of my chest: We were going to sit at a table in Cosmic Rays and when we walked up it looked as though a group of kids had taken their food and drink and scattered it about the table and booth and left.(the next guy will get it, Right!!!) If that is the summer time norm, I do believe I will stick to the off season. On the brighter side, the food and the service from the older cm's was great. Maybe the younger cm's should spend more time behind the scenes. Just my view of things. Is it just me.

It is most certainly not just you! I agree with the CM's lack of "disney" spirit. It is something I have noticed lately, but only in small pockets, thankfully. It will be a real bummer if that kind of apathy spreads around more, don't you think? I also find that when large groups of teens or school groups come through they don't always consider those who come after them. Perhaps the summer rush has made it harder to pick up the trash,etc. We live in Florida so we have the ability to go when we want (2.5 hour drive when my husband is at the wheel, 3.25 hour drive when I am ) so we stick to slower times, but I especially noticed the same things you did during our March (spring break) visit. Glad you still had a great time.

we went the last of APril and the first week of May and the cms were the last group before the new ones were arriving.....they were fantastic ...That is to bad that you had bad experiences with them.......Cosmic rays is a popular eating place and maybe the cms didnt get to that table yet.......we offered to clean the ones we wanted...(11 people) ....I do love the ceasar salad there.......thanks for your comments
