We leave in 9 days!! yeah!! This will be our first week long trip as DVC memebers. We are staying for 7 nights.

For our 7 nights, T and T are on day 4 correct? Do they have extra trash bags for our use or do i need to bring some extra in case we need them?

I plan on buying some purex 3 in 1 sheets to wash sheets with. so that's not a problem but may ask for a few extra anyways.

Anyone who has stayed at BLT, Were the clean sheets already on the sleeper sofa or are they in the closet and need to be made up? i plan on bringing the kids pillows so we won't have a shortage of pillows.

Anyother suggestions of things we may need for our first weeklong studio stay?? Thanks!!

T & T is Day 4. Check in day is Day 1.

There should be extra trash bags underneath the bag that is in trash basket. If you need more, call housekeeping.

Don't know the answer to the sofa bed question. I'm sure someone else will post the answer to that sometime soon.

Enjoy the trip.

Our more recent stays have been for 12 nights in a studio in OKW, our home resort. Reviewing the reservation confirmation that they mailed to us shows that 4 days is the magic number for T&T alternating with full service. There have always been plenty of trash bags in the studio, in spite of our kids being human garbage generators.

when we got our confermation letter in the mail it told us what day was full service and what day was t&t
we were at okw grand villa 4815 and we had to call and ask for sheets and blankets for the sofa bed

Woo Hoo. Enjoy those 7 nights. T and T and extra trash bags were answered. I do not know if you already know that since you are in a studio you would need to use the laundry. Do not know where they are in BLT but they are free. They also sell detergent for a $1.00 (last time we used them). Not sure if they sell Purex 3 in 1 sheets but I do not even know what Purex 3 in 1 sheets are. If the sleeper is not made up with clean sheets, you need to call Mousekeeping. I never had a problem with that though.

Other suggestions? How about have a great time. If it was me, I would take a trip to the lounge one night just to see what it is about. Other than that, enjoy the trip and the resort. Just to let you know, I have BLT envy.

:) Our studio at AKV the sofa bed was made. We had trouble finding our internet cord. It was in a bag handing in the armoire...do not know where it would be at BLT. Have a great trip.

The sofa beds are made up, but if you'll have a washing machine there's no harm in washing the sheets again. You can never be too safe!

Excuse me, safe against what? Unless the sleeper sofa is messy and appears unmade, the sheets are clean. If they are not clean when the OP checks in, she just needs to call Housekeeping for clean sheets.

We used the Purex sheets in January and they worked fine.

We just returned from BLT last week, and there were sheets on both the sofa and the pull-out chair. Enjoy!

That's interesting. When we were at BLT in January, we found the sheets for both on a shelf in the laundry room. We were in a 2 bedroom and the OP is in a studio.

We had to call for more blankets.

Thanks for all the help everybody!! I guess i will just be prepared for whatever comes up.

I have looked at my confirmation letter and it doesn't say anything about the trash and towel service. oh well. I'm still very excited to be almost time to go!

Now i just hope that the weather cooperates and it doesn't rain too much.:thumbsup2

I hope you have a great time!!!

I usually pack some gladware containers with lids for cereal eating, the paper bowls are small. I bring the lids because they are also good for storing left overs that we bring home from restaurants.

We loved our BLT stay in January even though the weather was horrible in the sense that it was cold...into the 20s at night even.

PS. I've noticed that recently some confirmation letters do not include information about the housekeeping services. However, they are spelled out on the Member site, and this is what you can expect for a 7 night visit.

Housekeeping. Club Members or their Guests receive the following housekeeping service during a DVC Resort stay reserved with Home Resort Vacation Points:
1) All Vacation Homes will be cleaned prior to check in.
2) For stays of seven (7) or less consecutive nights in the same Vacation Home, the DVC Resort will provide a "Trash & Towel" service on the fourth consecutive day of the stay. During a "Trash & Towel" service, housekeeping will:
•
Empty the trash and put new liners in the trash bins.
•
Provide fresh bathroom linens.
•
Replace facial tissues, paper towels and toilet paper.
•
Replace coffee, sugar, cream, and sweeteners.
•
Replace dish washing liquid, dish washing detergent, sponges and laundry detergent.

Non-DVC lurker here: I notice posters stating that they bring extra bowls and extra coffee. Can you ask housekeeping for extra supplies upon check-in? I understand that you may need larger bowls and so you bring those but I really don't want to have to pack extra coffee and paper plates.

I was thinking of bring them for my next trip but wasn't sure how the "softener" part would hold up.

My DSis brought them as a "present" for us...and there weren't any complaints. We were just happy to have something so convenient . I don't know if they would live up to everyone's expectations.

Huh? Sheets at the resorts are bleached, nothing much safer than that. I know my washing them in Tide in a regular machine isn't going to do as good a job as the commercial washers and bleach does.

We did use the Purex sheets once or twice, but I didn't care for them. I ended up just buying my usual Era and storing it our Owner's locker. Before we had Owner's Locker, I usually bought a small liquid detergent and left it there for the next person or the housekeepers to take.

That's what I'm thinking about; the convenience. I think I'll give them a try. Thanks! :)
