Wow! First time I'll use my points, next year in April for the VGC!
Can't wait to stay there, a studio, from 4/11 to 4/16!

Telling all the truth, this is a backup reservation, I'd prefere to book the last week of April, so I'll try to move the reservation in the following weeks. But since VGC is so small, I've preferred to book that week to be sure at least to have a reservation.

Now I have to start planning the rest of the vacation. I want to visit also other parts of California and I cannot decide what to see. Too many things to do and see for a single vacation! I have to choose what to do next year and what to leave for another time.

I'm going to rent a car, what you would suggest to visit?
I'm interested in the national parks (Yosemite, Grand Canyon...) and nice cities. I don't like to go to the beach and I've already visited San Francisco (but I loved it, so I could also go back, since I'll be with people never gone there).

Some of the places you've mentioned are several hours away from DL. Are you going to the parks too? Just be careful in your planning because I'd hate for you to spend most of your time in the car driving.
Southern California has tons of things to do and see besides DL. I'd start locally. Yosemite is NOT a day trip in my opinion. That is a trip in itself.
Have fun. I love my home away from home at VGC.

Ops, sorry, I omitted the most important info (too much exited by the reservation): those days are the first 5 of a 2 to 3 weeks vacation!

We'll use the days at the VGC to visit the parks and then move to visit other places in California. Maybe we'll use one day to visit some places in Los Angeles.
Airfare is so expensive that we have to make the most of it :)

There are plenty of places to visit in CA so I'd skip trying to combine with Grand Canyon which is quite far away. You might want to consider visiting the San Diego area for Sea World & the Zoo among other things. One year I took a side trip for a few days to Joshua Tree National Monument (I think it's a National Park now). Another year I went to Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks for several days. Yosemite is a bit far to combine with DL. There's also Death Valley which in April is getting towards being a bit too hot to visit. There are the many wine regions to visit too.
