First stay at VGF questions and open to suggestions

Hello,

We will be staying at VGF for our first stay in Nov. There will be 5 of us: DD 9 months, DD 3 yo, DW, MIL and myself.

What is the best way to get to MK for rope drop? Walk, boat, or monorail? (When we stayed at BLT it was so easy just to walk.) How much time should we alot?

We are thinking of eating at Artist Point. How long should we plan for the the boat ride?

Any tips or suggestions for staying there that people wished they knew before they went?

you can't walk to MK from VGF - we usually monorail it. The boat goes from GF-Poly-MK and I lack the patience for the boat at rope drop.

I don't know how long to allow for the boat ride to Artist point - we usually cab it for meals.

Get a breakfast at Crystal Palace, then you can be in the park before RD.

You'll need two boats to get to WL from GFV if you only go by boat. A boat to the MK and a boat from the MK to WL. Figure at least an hour.

Definitely monorail. But I'd still leave the room at least 30 minutes before I wanted to be at MK because some mornings it didn't seem like they're fully running the resort monorails. If you're slow, the walk from your room to the monorail station may take 10 minutes. Then you might wait 10-15 minutes for a monorail - just depends on how lucky you are with your timing.
