We stayed at THV for the first time from 11/19 to 11/22. Here are some comments:

-- We checked in at 10:00 and we shocked to hear our villa was ready! Awesome!
-- We were in 7046. Had a golf course view and was set further back from the road. Very private and close to bus stop but a hike to the pool and boat dock.
-- I would not stay here without a car.
-- There were 8 of us - 7 adults and 1 child. Plenty of room, although I would've preferred another 1/2 bath. Bunkbeds were fine for 2 grownups.
-- The roads are one way, so we were stopped several times by buses and delivery trucks. We waited over 5 minutes for a truck to finish unloading one morning. Kind of annoying.
-- Since the pool was small and far away from our room, we chose to drive over to SS or OKW's main pools.
-- All in all, it was nice for a group of 8 who needed the 3 bedrooms. We usually travel with 4 to 6 people. For that size, I would prefer a 2 bedroom at one of the other resorts. Or I might just stay offsite in a vacation rental if I had a large group again. I didn't feel we were really close to anything, but it was a beautiful villa and I'd stay there again if EMH or the dining plan were important to have.

I'm happy that you posted about your experience. I'm pretty sure we'll have a car when/if we stay at the THV, but we're thinking about them more as an alternative to staying at the rental cabin/trailers at FW more than a "near everything at the resort" sort of stay.

I agree!

OP thank you for sharing! Don't forget ME access also vs offsite.

We have family flying in from all over at all times and with college kids it will be so nice not to have to pick anyone up or dropoff.
Another half bath would be nice but for the points of a 2 bedroom I'm th
excited!! We check in 12/20

Also the fees for offsite are getting to be a little much.

Where was parking at the THV? I read somewhere that you are only allowed one car per THV, any additional cars must be parked near the main buildings. Is that true? Was it easy to park and go to the main pool? Thanks!

Not much parking. One vehicle per unit and you walk up a pipestem to get to the units. Short walk. We loved the THV as well. We had four adults and it was a perfect size. Don't be fooled by the 3BR, sleeps 9....that would be TIGHT, but doable. We just loved it. Enjoy! :goodvibes

We decided to go with an 8 person minivan (it was a tight squeeze!) since I had heard about the parking issues. We never had a problem getting one spot, but there was never more than one available near our villa.

I did not see additional parking near the pool. It would've been close to a 10 minute walk from our villa, but there weren't many villas that were farther away than us. If you have a car, it was really quick and easy to drive over to the main pool at OKW.

We'll be staying in the THV for the first time this coming summer '10 with my brother and his family. We are so excited!!!

We were there in October, without a car, and it was still wonderful! The buses were always there, it seemed. Most would drop you off right at your door at the end of the day.
