My family bought in July of 07 and we have reserved at ssr for july of this year along with a 3 day cruise. We are soooooo excited, as it will be our first time utilizing our DVC. Any good tips or suggestions, like what is a good building to stay in if given a choice? AND what positives for which areas? Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wizard:

We've stayed at SSR 2 times both at the grandstand. SSR is one of the only DVC areas that is exclusively for DVC members (no hotel rooms ). the area is quiet & very easy access to bus service.

First of all, Welcome Home and Congratulations!!:welcome:

Second, I would recommend reading this Thread. It has lots of tips and information for SSR.

Welcome Home SSR neighbor!!

Hope you love it as much as we do :lovestruc

We stayed in Grandstand in September and we thought it was the perfect location!

I have never made requests for special sections, but if I stay at SSR again, I will be sure to request any area BUT Carousel. I think our room was the furtherest away from everything in the whole resort (except maybe the front gate). The room itself was good although they only had one elevator working in the building the whole weekend.

Congrats on your first time home!

We enjoy SSR and always request an area. If you are not in a hurry for your room, then most of the time the CM will accommodate your request.

Enjoy and have a great time!

We have stayed at SSR three times (1 Grandstand w/ kids - 2 at Congress Park w/o kids) Both were perfect for our plans. Grandstand has the first bus stop - key if you are going to the parks and with kids. Also, it has it's own kid-friendly, themed pool - plus close walk to the heart of SSR (food, activities). Congress Park is closest for walking to DTD and has some lovely, yet quiet views of DTD. It has a quiet pool.
We have not stayed in the others but have heard many like the Paddocks and Springs (right in the middle of everything). Our only concern with the Springs was that since it is the 5th and final bus stop, the busses were often full when they arrived.
SSR is a fabulous, stunningly landscaped, peaceful resort. We love it and hope you will, too.

We love Congress Park...we had a great view of Downtown Disney (although they were refurbishing Planet Hollywood at the time and that was unsightly) and it was very quiet. I am sure you will love wherever you stay!!! :thumbsup2
