A while ago a posted about a possible split stay between the WL and POFQ for a quick holiday trip. HOWEVER, I got a deal at the Poly for the weekend of Nov. 27-30 through a travel agent that I could not pass up, so the wife and I are doing that. It's the first time we've ever stayed at a MK Resort, much less on the monorail and we are so excited!

Since this is our first time, I was wondering if anyone had advice? We requested a King Bed and I'm sending in a fax through touring plans for the room we'd like to have in Figi Longhouse. Does anyone have experience in Figi? It looks like they are all standard view but if you get a 3rd floor room it's got a bit of a lagoon/marina view which is nice.

Looking forward to hearing about this resort from everyone!

Ohana has a room service option! So even if you can't get a reservation you could get dinner sent up.

I have to second the ohana room service! My husband and I got it for 1 - and had a LOT leftover. We enjoyed it out on our balcony, and it was a perfect end to our first night.

Thanks for the quick advice! We have a reservation at O'hana for the first night - do you think it's better to do the room service instead of the actual restaurant? Our reservation is at 7:20

Wait, you can do that from ANY room? For some reason I thought it was just the Bungalows...!

I'd keep that Ohana reservation -- it's a good time and a nice way to end the night. The timing should be right that you can watch Wishes outside on the beach afterward.

Kona serves a good breakfast and is famous for tonga toast (banana stuffed French toast). I believe you can also get tonga toast at Captain Cook's too (the fast-food place).

You're in for a real treat staying at Poly. If you have time, walk the grounds near the beach and bungalows as it has all been refurbished and it's beautiful. Also, they have a dole whip counter which many people love....and I'm sure you've heard about the new Trader Sam's....

Enjoy!

Yes, you can order it from any room! But it's still better to eat it at O'hana . . . unless you are staying in a bungalow! I would keep the ADR.

Other tips - yes, Trader Sam's is fun for a night (gets pricey after that!). We really enjoyed grabbing drinks and apps at the Trader Sam's patio. It was never crowded, there was live music and they pipe the Wishes music in so you can watch the fireworks from the patio - super nice!

We've stayed in Fiji twice. Once in a 3rd floor room facing the marina and this past summer, first floor facing luau cove. I actually preferred first floor facing luau cove better because I could walk right out the patio door to the luau cove beach to see the electric water pageant and Wishes and there was hardly ever anyone there.

You can get tonga toast at Captain Cook's for a fraction of the price.

Since you have a reservation, use it. I was just offering up the option if you couldn't get one. It's sort of a slick trick when you're at the Poly!
