Im going on my first solo trip in October. I will be meeting up with a few people for a few hours. My main objective is photography. I’m having a hard time, figuring out ADR, there’s too many choices, etc. How can I simplify or not make this complicated? What do you do? I don’t care if it’s a CS or TS, I’m happy with a burger. Anyone else going in October? Thank you for the advice

So many awesome photo ops, especially with F & W over at Epcot.

When I did my solo trips, if I was there for 7 days, I'd do 1 TS for breakfast and 1 or 2 TS for dinner. The rest would all be QS.

I'm doing my first solo trip soon and am doing all QS meals or F&W booths except for one breakfast at Boma.

Thank you. I have one TS for breakfast at Kona. I was thinking about a TS at Boma or The Plaza and the rest CS either at the parks or DS. I’d like to try DeLuxe Burger, The Polite Pig, The Chicken Guy

I’m going in October! I found that for me I stick to mostly counter service. Last trip (and my upcoming trip) I’ve booked some group dining. I’ve had good luck being sat with fun groups. I’ll be there Oct 19-24 if you want to dine with someone else!

I’m arriving on the 24th, I’m there the 24-30. That would have been great,

In a week long solo trip I also only book a couple ADRs in advance, the rest is either CS or I check the ap to see what TSs are available day of. I do this because I don't like being committed to a dining schedule, but there are always a couple favorite places I want to be sure and visit. Next trip I'm going to try eating in some of the lounges, for light bites that are TS level quality.

Thank you for the reply. I didn’t see listings for lounges. What lounges do you recommend? With a solo trip, you get to do whatever, whenever, when traveling with others everything gets planned. I feel almost overwhelmed, there are so many choices to choose from. I have an ADS at Kona for breakfast. I like the idea of checking the day of for TSs. There’s a few places at DS I’d like to try too, but they might late meals.

Oh yes, I forgot that I'm planning to try the Nomad Lounge this trip! It's at Tiffin's in the AK.

Nomad Lounge in AK is at the top of my must-try list... next to Tiffins. I'm a sucker for a good Charcuterie Plate and at DHS the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge serves one as does the Baseline Tap House. La Cava del Tequila in EPCOT is said to have excellent guacamole. At EPCOT there's also Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar. Then there are lots of places to try in the resorts, particularly around MK and EPCOT.

Edited to add: When eating on your own sometimes it's nice to sit at the bar at a TS, one of my favorites to do this is Flying Fish. Also, the key is to do your research, know what's available and where things are - but don't over plan!

Thank you. I’ll check these out

I've been going solo for the past 3 or 4 years during F&W. Most of my meals other than breakfast come from the booths and I book a couple of the special Food and wine pairing lunches, which are group lunches and are loads of food and fun. I also go to a couple of the little culinary demos at the festival center, you get a small sample of the food the chef is cooking at those. I usually also drop into Nomad Lounge for a small plate and a refreshing adult beverage and HBD Lounge for a Cobb Salad and a glass (or two) of wine. I never book ADRs in advance, even when I go with my adult son. We tend to just book our ADRs the day of while walking around, we have never had any problems finding somewhere with an opening.

Thank you. I might just do this too.

Of my 20 visits to WDW, I've done at least 5 solo. When on my own, I usually book TS ADRs for lunch every day and then QS for the remainder. If I am there during F&W or F&G, then I don't make any TS ADRs for the days at EPCOT and just eat at the special pavilions throughout the park--many delicious bites to enjoy. I am also going in October --25 to 30. Enjoy your first solo!

Thank you for all the information I have one ADR for breakfast at Kona so far and wil probably do Boma for breakfast.

I usually like to eat a big breakfast and maybe a snack at lunch and then dinner. Or a big lunch and lighter dinner or late dinner. What’s your favorite TSs for lunch?

Skipper Canteen at MK, Chefs de France at EP, and my absolute favorite park TS restaurant is Hollywood Brown Derby at HS. At the resort, I always go to breakfast at BOMA on every trip--have to eat that great food and then visit with the animals for a bit. Sanaa for lunch is also great at AKL, but if I'm only headed there one day on a trip, it's BOMA breakfast. Have a great time!

Thank you. So many places to choose from. I was thinking Boma the day I go to AK too.
