Does anyone know how new the movies are onboard the ship. My wife and I are really looking forward to seeing 'National Treasure' and may see it this Friday. BUT, if it will be playing on the ship 12/4 Magic, then we will wait for it then. It would be a nice night out for us onboard (we love going to the movies)!

Is there somewhere that lists their movie schedule, or do you just find out when ya get onboard??

Usually a returning poster or someone who is posting a Live from the Magic thread will answer those questions.

But generally, Disney does offer their currently released movies on board. In fact, they usually have a "PremEAR at Sea" on the day it's released, often in the Walt Disney Theater (the big one). I would imagine National Treasure will fall into this category. It may run more in the evenings than the afternoons, since it's not specifically geared towards the little kids, but it will probably be on the ship.

In addition to Disney movies, they usually offer other studios movies if they are big hits, but they won't be right at release. For instance, on our Jan 03 cruise, they had "Chicago" and "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". I think Chicago had been released about 3-4 weeks prior to our sailing, and Greek Wedding had been out about 3 months.

Hope this helps!

My husband and I are hoping it's there...

We plan to see incredibles and NT while on board next month....

(We've seen most of the stage shows on board several times so it would be nice to see the first run movies instead.)

One related movie note... We were pleasantly surprised at the caliber of movies they show in the staterooms. They have six (I think) channels that show movies constantly, and they mostly show movies that aren't first run, but aren't available on DVD yet. On our trip (we left 10/30) they were showing things like the 3rd Harry Potter movie, Shrek 2, Spiderman 2 and Van Helsing (terrible). And they have two channels that show animated classics all day.

It's a nice option to have, kind of like having a budget cinema in your room.

I liked the new in-room movies too....

I guess they realized that parents needed something to do/watch while children were napping or if someone was more confined to their room. (especially for the inside cabin's anyway)
