"First rule of leadership, Princess...." ~Overdosing on Ice Cream

Love the latest installment - it was two things I wanted to do this trip but didn't have a chance to (now I've got two reasons to go back though!). I am drooling looking at the ice ream pictures - those sundaes are huge! When we walked between the Beach Club and the Boardwalk we saw so many surrey bikes - I've always wanted to try those out but our group of six people split up. I never realized they were so tough - glad you had a boost from a jogger! :thumbsup2

It took me a few days for the movie to really grow on me. You were probably bothered by the same things that bothered me!

Probably. :goodvibes

WE have Beaches & Cream on our list fro August. What time of day did you get there? I have heard the wait can be long if you go at prime time. I was thinking of trying to do a late lunch early dinner and getting there for 3:00 or so. What do you think?

I'm guessing we were there around 3 or 4pm and it wasn't to crowded, we didn't have to wait very long to be seated.

Looks like you had fun on the bike. Too funny about the jogger! That was really nice!

It was very unexpected!

Keep in mind that the two people in back, Aunt Pat and Daisy were not much help!

We went to see Indian Jones 4 this afternoon, I'm not sure how I feel about this movie just yet. Then we had my new nephew's dedication this evening. Not sure how I felt about that either.

The next chapter is written and I will be posting it tomorrow.

I was sorta torn about Indiana Jones 4 too, some parts were great, but I thought overall it was just "eh". The ending was so strange.

Looking forward to your next chapter!!

Great, that's just about the time I was hoping to go. I hope it is the same when we get there. I don't mind waiting, but 4 year olds aren't very good at that!

After gladly returning the surrey bike we walked to the Boardwalk Inn's bus stop and caught the bus to the Magic Kingdom.

Our goals for the evening were to go on a few rides, enjoy another dinner at Tony's and pick up our free 5x7 Photopass picture. The Magic Kingdom was a little crowded but I figured if we stayed away from the thrill rides before dinner we would be ok.

Having watched the Modern Marvels WDW dvd Joey really wanted to see the Abraham Lincoln animatronic, so we took this opportunity to go the The Hall of Presidents.

Daisy was disgruntled about this, but we didn't listen to her. The Hall of Presidents was interesting and a good place to take a break. Our tired from bike riding legs appreciated the chance to sit and be still for a bit.

After seeing the presidents the kids were hungry for a snack. For days we had been on the look out for Joey's favorite in park snack, churros, and we had been unsuccessful in finding them. We were beginning to think they only had them at Disneyland, when we stumbled on a small cart selling them.

So the kids had churros and I had a Diet Coke.

We continued on our way around to Fantasyland, where I insisted the kids pose in front of Cinderella's fountain.

IMG_6293.jpg

Then we picked up Fast Passes for Peter Pan. Peter Pan had been closed for refurbishment up until now. We still had a bit of time before our dinner ADR so I insisted we see Mickey's Philharmagic. I assured my family I had read that it was very good and they would like it.

We waited to go into the theater for a little bit

and then the doors automagically opened. Now here is where I must state one of the annoying things that happened in every show we went into. Despite the announcement to move to the end of the row, people would stop in the middle of a row and sit down. Do these people really not know how rude this is to make everyone climb over them? In our row knowing that we wanted the middle we hung back and let people in front of us, but in the row behind us a party of 5 adults and several small children were first to enter their row and then sat down in the middle so that everyone behind them had to climb over all their legs. A lot of grumbling came from said people!

Their rudeness just continued, after everyone had finished climbing over them they sat back and pulled out food from their bags and began passing it around. This was not just a package of fruit snacks to tied over a hungry kid, this was their evening meal that they were passing around just as the announcement, which they ignored, came on saying no eating in the theater.

Then once the show started one of the adults pulled out a video camera and proceeded to film the reactions of the children in their party while they watched the movie. The light from the video camera was very distracting, as was the man's running commentary to the children. Plus the two kids were kicking David and Adam in front of them and not one of the adults ever asked them to stop! Despite the family behind us we did enjoy Mickey's Phiharmagic and my family did agree that I was right and it was a great 3D movie.

After the movie it was time to get to our ADR at Tony's Town Square. While struggling to make our way back up Main Street the children coined the phrase "stroller assassins." The aggressive manner that some parents use to push their strollers through crowds is quite scary. All of the children had to be quick on their feet to dodge the strollers. While walking down the middle of Main Street I had one woman almost run into me with her stroller and when I stepped aside she jabbed her stroller at me and said "That's right!" She was definitely a stroller assassin.

We arrived on the porch at Tony's feeling lucky to have survived the Main Street gauntlet. We checked in at the podium and were seated immediately. Our table this evening was out in the glass atrium.

Spectromagic started shortly after we were seated and it was nice to catch a glimpse of it out the window. We all ordered the same things we had eaten on our previous visit except the tomato salads. The spinach dip and everything else were just as delicious the second time.

While we were enjoying our desserts we watched as a little girl of about 3 followed the server all the way from her table into the servers' station. The servers all looked a little baffled on what to do with her and sort of tried to shoo her out. None of the four adults in her party even seemed to notice she was missing, let alone that she was where she shouldn't be and retrieve her. After a few minutes the little girl wandered back out to the middle of the room and one of the adults with her finally gathered her up.

After dinner I went and picked out our free 5x7 and then during the fireworks we made our way to Tomorrowland. We all rode Buzz which was a walk on.

IMG_6314.jpg

Then the kids rode Space Mountain which had a posted wait time of 20 minutes but was actually less. Then we walked over to Fantasyland and rode Peter Pan with our Fast Passes.

IMG_6317.jpg

We walked onto Snow White's Scary Adventure, and then onto the Tea Cups at closing time.

We were just entering the castle hub when the Kiss Goodnight started and we stopped to watch. It was very pretty and I'm glad we got the chance to see it. Then it was a quiet walk down Main Street and a short wait for the bus.

IMG_6323.jpg

On the bus ride back to CSR Daisy discovered that her cell phone made an adequate reading light.

IMG_6324.jpg

Once back at the hotel we all went straight to bed.

I've never seen Kiss Goodnight... is it worth extra effort to try to see it or just "nice if you happen to be there"? Do they do it every night?

I'd put it in the nice if you happen to be there category. I don't know if they do it every night or not? :confused3

Daisy reminds me of me at her age...always with a book in hand!

I can't believe the people with strollers at WDW. I'll leave it at that.

It's so nice that there were no lines for the rides you all went on!

I so wish that I had been able to come up with some witty retort for the woman who jabbed the stroller at me, but I was just to stunned!

Ok Chelle what is the Good Night Kiss because I have never heard of it?

After closing time and announcement comes over the loud speaker saying the park is closing and they are going to do the kiss goodnight. It's just a cute little ceremony with music and colored lights on the castle.

Seeing the Kiss Goodnight is on my list of things to do! Glad you got to see it! Eeek on the strollers! I don't know what is worse, the stroller assassins or the inexperienced ECV drivers! :scared1:

I am in awe at the complete disregard for courtesy by the KFC family in Philharmagic! As a stroller pushing mom I REALLY hate it when people use their strollers as a battering ram! Where was she going in such a hurry? the bus?:rotfl2: Good for you for not letting it ruin your night!:goodvibes Cute pics of a resourceful Daisy with her "booklight":thumbsup2

Looks like you had a lovely evening at the Magic Kingdom!

Except for the evil stroller assasins!!! I can't believe that woman said that to you!

For the most part I felt bad for the ECV drivers because in crowds people would just cut in front of them and they could hardly move.

"KFC family" :lmao: She was on her way up Main Street towards the castle, and I'm not sure what here hurry was.

Except for the evil stroller assasins!!! I can't believe that woman said that to you!

I'm sure she had been cut off one to many times by other people, but really to quote Stephanie from Full House "How rude."

Great update!! I really want to see the kiss goodnight!

What a very unhurried evening:cloud9: Yours is still the only good review of Tony's I have read, but after reading it I may have to [ut it on our to do next time list.

What a very unhurried evening:cloud9:

I think one of the best things we did was visit MK for several short periods of time. It made it so much easier to get to a lot of the things we might have skipped over by just doing one or two long rope drop to closing days.

I can't believe that was your first time to see Philharmagic, but that makes sense if there isn't one at Disneyland! What a bummer that there was such a rude family behind you because I'm sure that it took away from your first experience. I hope you got to see it again, or will get to again, sans the 'KFC' family! :rotfl:
