"First rule of leadership, Princess...." ~Overdosing on Ice Cream

Your house looks great!! Did you mention when you expect it to be completed and ya'll move-in?

It's all dependent on the weather at this point. The house is going to be completed in the next few weeks. The problem is we need a week or so of nice, not rainy weather so we can put the septic system in. Let's see April in the pacific northwest, do you think we are going to get a week with no rain? :lmao:

Not much we can do about it, but wait and see.

I should be sleeping right now. Going back to work on Monday is going to be so difficult!

your house looks great as it is coming along.

The pics after he got the knee pads on was hysterical.

Dried paint? :rotfl2: Boys and their treasures!!! I am always finding strange things in Connor's pockets!

It's our last day of spring break, Chel! :sad2:

Are you working on your house again today?

:sad2: I know back to work tomorrow. Yes we need to finished the floor downstairs at least today. Everyone is rather slow to get started this morning though.

OM gosh! I cant wait to see finished pics of that beautiful house!! It will all be worth it in the end when you can sit back and relax and enjoy it all!!!:goodvibes

Luckily I only have to get myself moving tomorrow morning. Daisy will be on spring break this next week.

That works out well! It's always easier for me to get ready and out of the house on teacher workdays. My two are going to be soooo cranky tomorrow morning! :scared:

Thank you. Yes it will be worth it once we are all moved in. I wish we were moved in now! :rotfl:

Cranky kids not fun!:scared1:

Your new house looks soooo spacious, how wonderful! I think it's grest that the kids help you out:thumbsup2 Hey it's family bonding right!

the kids do grout sealing work? Can you send them my way? haha

We built our house 18 months ago. Well, we moved into it 18 months ago. We built it for about 11 months before that. (Maybe we've already talked about this?) Anyway, I can totally relate. Your house looks like it's going to be gorgeous!

How'd house remodeling go today..?

Did DH get everything done before his trip?

We worked on the floor ALL day! It's only about 1/2 way finished. We got the parts that absolutely had to be finished before he leaves. The bathroom, and the doorways to rooms that are getting carpet tomorrow.

We will have lots of room to spread out! The kids are good at helping, but only in short shifts.

Thanks. It's good to know other people built homes and survived through it. I think if I hadn't had a Disney trip to plan and distract myself with I might have gone crazy!

Glad you got what you needed to get done..done.

Me too, but I wish it was all finished. David is the one who wanted to save the money and do the floor himself. We kept telling him it was going to take longer than he thought. He didn't believe us, but guess who was right? Plus he never seems to take into account how much he has to travel for work.

I a loving your trip report. Your kids are beautiful. Good luck with finishing the house. I wish I could get my kids to work like that. Can't wait to read more!!

Thank you. I have the next chapter finished, I just need to have more energy to post it. I should be able to type it out before I leave for school in the morning.

under the sea." - The Little Mermaid

Our pager finally went off and we were shown into the dining room. WOW! The hostess led us down to our table, we were on the first level not right next to the glass, but at a booth back from it. Awesome table! David was wished "Happy Birthday." and handed a personalized menu. That was a surprise to me, I knew you could get them there but I hadn't requested one. Thank you to Sonya our wonderful travel agent for arranging it.

The bread was brought to the table and we devoured it like hungry wolves.

Then I saw out of the corner of my eye a diver in the water. Could it be already? He swam over to the window and started pointing at David. The kids were very excited, David was rather clueless at first and we had to tell him the sign was for him. The sign said "Happy 40th Birthday David."

The diver hammed it up for awhile and then moved on.

Our waitress was very nice and friendly, which was very helpful considering the menu meltdown just a short while before. She explained somethings about the menu and reminded us that since we were on the deluxe dining plan everyone could order and appetizer. I am not a seafood person but I decided to be brave an ordered the lobster soup.

David ordered the shrimp cocktail and Daisy the ceasar salad, and Aunt Pat got the green salad.

The waitress let both Joey and Adam order french fries as their appetizer.

They were much relieved and very happy about that. Everyone liked their choice except Daisy. The dressing on the Caesar salad was a lot spicier than normal Caesar dressing, it tasted like it had horseradish in it. I thought it was yummy. I shared my lobster soup with her and she pronounced it good.

For our main course Daisy ordered the King crab legs.

David the steak.

Aunt Pat and I got the pork chop.

Joey at 11 was technically suppose to be ordering off the adult menu, but he ordered a kids cheese pizza here. Adam ordered the mac and cheese.

IMG_5568.jpg

I had read that the kids mac and cheese was not good at Coral Reef so I wasn't optimistic about that choice. IT truned out that the mac and cheese was really awful! It was the only thing that was not good though. All the rest of the food was wonderful. Adam doesn't eat much anyway so he was fine with just fries.

It was very soothing to sit and watch the tanks while we ate.

The divers got in twice while we were there and came up to the windows and were very engaging and funny. The giant turtle swam by and always illicited excited murmurs from everyone in the restaurant.

It was loud in there, but it was the pleasant noise of lots of happy people.

Dessert was much anticipated by me. I had studied the menus at allears and I was torn because my absolute favorite dessert is creme brulee, but so many people rave about the chocolate wave. I was thrilled when Daisy decided she wanted the chocolate wave, I could taste hers and that left me free to order the butterscotch creme brulee.

IMG_5572.jpg

Everyone else ordered the make your own sundaes.

When dessert came there was one more surprise for David. They had placed and edible "Happy Birthday" sign on his dessert.

I just love those extra magic touches. Everyone enjoyed their desserts, Daisy and I decided we both preferred the butterscotch creme brulee to the chocolate wave. All told it was a wonderful first night meal in Disney World meal.
