First round of stimulus checks deposited today

I'm confused. It specifically said on the site not to include the city and state in the address line. Maybe that's the issue? Incorrect instructions on their site? I feel like I tried entering it every way possible though and it still didn't work.
I just tried to do it again that way & got the same status unavailable message.

I just tried to put in DS's info again and got 'doesn't match our records'. So that's different. Maybe they're tweaking things.

ETA: message also says locked out for 24 hours from trying too many times (so that's why we got this message...around 6:50)

The portal is horrible and doesn't work for people on SS or SSDI ! It asks for refund amount, but ppl that get social security benefits don't get a refund ! Our bank info is supposed to be on file via SSA form 1099 -
My mom has been retired for 20 years and has the bank since - she has not received stimulus - I've been disabled since 2017 and on SSDI - bank info has been same - I didn't get mine either - now I hear end of April for SS deposit

Once again, not everyone is getting the payment today. It will go out in waves, over many weeks. The IRS site is overloaded, so that is why many people are getting error messages.

Heard same - just wish I knew what group I was in and I won't stress that much !

think the (possible) prob w my filing was fact that it changed - not sure what group I'm in - filed and received refund in 2018- then SSDI in 2019, and filed Feb as formality (no refund) - not sure what group IRS considers me- 2018 filer or 2019 - social
security group ? Anyone ? TIA !

If you're in the group expecting a paper check in the coming weeks, they will be delayed.
Only because there is a disconnect in agencies. My brother is on SSDI he Gets direct deposit but he doesn’t file an IRS form so now Social Security has to talk to IRS to get his check. He may end up getting a paper check he may end up getting a direct deposit

It is not because there is a disconnect in agencies.

Both my SS and the stimulus checks were in my account today. Today was the normal day for SS.

I just posted another article about this above - definitely seems like a lot of people are having the same issue, so that gives me hope that those of us who should will in fact get the stimulus check. Just a matter of when.
Irs is now saying that message we were getting is just b/c the system is overloaded. They said it should have been a message that said system is overloaded but instead that somehow ended up being the default message.

I tried again this evening but am still locked out of the site. Will try again tomorrow but not in the morning this time to avoid having it ruin my day!

Lol! I tried again too & am locked out. I didn’t get locked out til the afternoon anyway so I’ll have to wait for my 24 hour period.

We do not qualify for this and my 22 year old son who is still working (all be it probably not much longer) does not qualify because we claim him as a dependent for him to stay on my health insurance. My 21 and 19 year old daughters get nothing because they are full time students. they have no leads for summer jobs since both of them worked summer rec programs and coach lacrosse which is not happening this year. I realize that I should be thankful that I do not qualify but it is frustrating that my son who could use the money is not able to collect simply because I choose to keep him insured. My daughters should be able to get something as well since they of course do not qualify for work study jobs since again we apparently make too much money. I certainly do not feel rich and with 4 kids I would hope that I could qualify for something at some point. My 78 year old father who lives with us does qualify though.

Where do you get the idea that you have to claim your son in order to keep him insured? One is not tied to the other. We haven’t claimed our 23 year old DD since she was 18 and she is still on our insurance (and will remain there until she is 26.)

For my insurance the human resource department has told me that he needs to be claimed as a dependent. I follow what they tell me since I have very good health insurance and he does not need the extra expense. Maybe it is a lie but either way we claimed him last year as he was a full time student (graduated last May). We have not filed our taxes yet this year taking advantage of the extension.

There is no tie between health insurance and taxes. You do not have to claim him as a dependent to keep him on your health insurance.
