First Resort to the Right & Straight Until Relaxation!1/25&1/26 updts!Final thoughts!

Day 7, our last day! It was definitely time to go home! We missed the kiddos a ton! More then a ton actually!!!!!! They were having a blast with Grandma and Grandpa but they missed us too! I couldn’t wait for hugs!

When we woke up we decided to cancel our breakfast at Kona Café because after the terrible heartburn I was a little wary of eating Tonga Toast, which was what I wanted! I was thinking a smaller, lighter breakfast was a much better option!

So I called dining and cancelled the reservation!

We finished packing up, called bell service, took a few more pictures

(LOVE my zoom lens;))

and when bell service had taken our stuff, we headed toward MK!

We walked through the gate a few minutes after 9 and noticed that there was quite a contrast to the previous night! There was no one in MK!!! It was empty!

I had one thing on my agenda for the day! That was to get DH on either BTMRR or Splash, or both! He had promised me both but with having not felt well for the majority of the trip he was a little apprehensive!

He decided that Splash was the better option and I wasn’t going to argue! He kept asking me if he’d get wet! I told him a little but he wasn’t going to get drenched! I told him it wasn’t Kali River Rapids wet! He was happy with that but we stopped at the shop (what is it called?!) to get plastic bags to protect our phones and my camera! Just in case.

One picture before the camera was securely wrapped in the bag,

Then we walked right onto Splash with only 2 other people in our log! DH was like a little kid the whole ride! Every time we went down one of the smaller drops he would ask if that was it! Finally I reminded him that you could see the final drop from outside and we hadn’t been down a big drop outside! LOL!! Then it finally came and he loved it! We barely got wet!

Then we started to round the turn outside and could see the log in front of us get hit with the big wave from the log coming down the drop! I knew right then we were going to get it!

Sure enough we got closer and the wave from the dropping log hit us! It hit us like a tsunami! We got drenched!!! Oh no!

I was a little worried about how DH was going to react! But he just laughed! That made me laugh! We laughed and laughed! It was hysterical!

All soaked and having a great time we decided it was time to get some breakfast and dry off a little! So we headed toward the bakery!

Some Frontierland pics along the way back to Main Street,

Moving onto Liberty Square,

We decided on sharing a cinnamon roll and getting some fruit too! DH went off for a bio break while I got our food and found a table in the sun by Casey’s!

We ate our breakfast, and dare I say it, the cinnamon roll was not very good! It didn’t taste like we remembered! It was way too sweet and not very warm! We both ate a few bites and then ate the fruit!

Before we left our table I had to take a picture of the hidden I found! DH thought I was crazy!

Then we were off to Fantasyland! Sorry for the lack of pictures for this part, I think I was trying to soak up ever last bit of Disney Magic!

We were able to just about walk onto Peter Pan, we waited maybe 5 minutes! It was after 10 at this point and there was barely a wait! Then we headed over to Pooh, which was a walk on! Then Snow White and then off to PhilHarMagic!

Then we headed over to HM for the last ride of the trip!

After HM we were starving because of our rather small and disappointing breakfast! Luckily, at some point during the week, not sure when, I had decided to make a lunch ADR at The Plaza for before we left so we would have a good meal!

It was our first time at The Plaza and it won’t be our last! I really enjoyed the quaint atmosphere and the yummy cheeseburger! So did DH!!

Something odd happened while we were there though! There are no bathrooms inside The Plaza! You have to go outside and use the bathroom next to the restaurant if need be. A family sitting a few tables away all got up and left at the same time. Apparently the CM’s thought they had decided to skip lunch at The Plaza and sat another family at the table. Well, the first family soon returned to find other people sitting in their seats! They had all gone to the bathroom at the same time!

The CM’s were very confused and very apologetic! The new family left the seats and the old family got their seats back!

It was all very weird and I hope they made some sort of effort to make the situation a little more magical for both families!

So, after some yummy cheeseburgers we decided to do a little bit more shopping on Main Street including the Confectionary to get some treats for the plane and to take home to the kiddos!

After our little shopping trip we stopped to watch these guys for a minutes…

Of course, we’ve seen them before but we’ve never seen them with those neat instruments they’re holding! They gave them a little shake and they made a really cool sound, honestly I can’t remember what!

On our way out we stopped to take a few pictures of my favorite WDW halloween decorations,

Then it was back to CR to claim our luggage, change into our warm clothes for the plane and wait for the car to pick us up!

We were off to the airport, in no time and after an uneventful trip through airport and flight home we were greeted at the airport by MIL, FIL and 3 very happy kids!!! Of course, they wanted to know what we had brought them ;)

OHHHH, I love that hidden Mickey! Great find! :thumbsup2

And I know I've probably said this a half a dozen times on here but all your pictures make me really want to stay at BLT. It looks amazing!

What a great trip!!!!! I bet you did miss the kids a lot of being gone for 6 nights. You are so lucky to have someone to take care of them while you are away.

So...hmmm.....i think I definitely want some type of hipster bag. I do re member Tracy's vera and it was definitely cute. So is your new D&B over the shoulder? That sounds perfect!

I think I liked Splash mountain a lot better when you DIDNT get wet! Glad you guys laughed about it!

It is pretty amazing what these guys can play with those things.

Very nice pictures.
Sad to leave Disney World, but happy to be getting home to those you love.
Made the leaving easier, I am sure.

Sometimes we forget to dress warm enough for our arrival at home. We get off the plane and are reminded that we're not in Florida any more!

I thought my hidden mickey was fabulous!

You definitely should stay at BLT! At least once! It was fabulous!

We definitely missed the kids! I missed my hugs and kisses! I missed my Ryan cuddles, my lego time with Johnny, my talking with Dorothy! But they were having a blast with Grandma and Grandpa and we were having a blast too! It's funny, they're so ok with us going away without them now! I guess they need a vacation from us too! Grandma lets them get away with more ;)

I highly recommend a hipster type bag! This is my new D&B

Honestly, it's small!!! Especially for $145! A small wallet and a few small things is all it will hold! But I'm ok with that! It's super cute and will hold what I need it to! I am thinking about getting a camera bag backpack for times I want to lug all my stuff with me! I have 3 lens now (2 that came with the camera kit and my zoom lens) and am saving for a telephoto!!! I also want to be able to take a tripod or my gorilla pod too!

Holy c#*p!!! I did not expect to get that wet!! DH has a theory that the wet rides are wetter on warm days! It was a warm day so perhaps he's right! He and DD got SOAKED on Kali on a very warm day during our Oct 09 trip!

I had never seen those things before! Super cool!!!

It was definitely time to go home! I missed my kiddos! I always pack FL clothes in the carry-on to change into at the airport and leave NY clothes available to change into before we leave! There can be a big difference between FL and NY! Although not so much with our December trip! :lmao:

What a great way to end the trip! I love a MK morning, especially one with no no crowds!

It was a fabulous end to the trip! No crowds at MK that morning was fabulous!

So, I see you started a new TR! I have to catchup on you other TR and then head over there! I'm forever behind! :lmao:

Well, that’s it folks! The TR has come to an end!

It was a fabulous trip! One that will be repeated, in one form or another, in the future! DH and I have come to really enjoy going away alone! It’s good for us! It’s good for our mental health, it’s good for our relationship, it’s just all good!

I truly enjoyed staying at BLT! It definitely isn’t my favorite resort ever but it was very nice and I was a lot more comfortable there then I thought I would be! Modern décor isn’t my thing but this was comfy modern, not cold modern! I would have been a lot happier had our MK view been more MK and less parking lot! I think next time I’ll stick with lake view! I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE walking to MK!!!! Truly wonderfully fabulous!

We enjoyed some really good meals! We tried The Wave, Mama Melrose and Via Napoli all of which were new to us! All were very good and we’ll be back!

We had a fabulous time at MNSSHP as usual! I just can’t say enough about how much we love MNSSHP!!! I did find out that it’s a bit more fun with the kiddos ;)

We made our very first off sight trip and while it wasn’t my cup of tea to take time away from a trip to Disney to go to a hockey game it was a lot of fun!

Our romantic evening was amazing and I really hope to out do it with a WDW vow renewal in 9 years!!!

Meeting Christine and Tracy made the trip that much more fabulous! It’s funny to meet your dis friends in “real” life! You’ve come to know these people online and built quite a friendship without ever actually having met! When you do actually meet in person that friendship kinda jumps from world of the internet to the real world without any bump along the way! It’s amazing and such a wonderful gift to have the opportunity to make true friends with people who get the Disney thing!

So with that I bid farewell to this TR!!! I have started what will be a very short TR for our December trip! You can find that here,

Disney Magic Don't Fail Me Now!

I’ll also be back with another TR just as soon as we return from DD’s birthday surprise trip next month!!!!

Thank you all for following along and hanging in there through several dis-breaks! I vow to be a better in the future! :rolleyes1

What a great trip! Well, other than the bouts of illness :(

Breaks are allowed, real life and all that. We've all been there (are there lol).

Love the recap, I can't believe you are going again next month....and just got back as well. Makes me dizzy!

Oh boo, I catch up just in time for the end. I've so enjoyed following along! Hopping over to your new TR!

What a great ending to your trip, minus the heartburn. Your wishes pictures are great. Your MK morning sounds perfect. I'm glad your husband was OK with getting soaked on Splash Mountain. I love the hidden Mickey you found. :thumbsup2

What a perfect last day! Love the low crowds at MK. :thumbsup2 And you are not crazy for seeing that Hidden Mickey-it is awesome! Good eye!

What a wonderful trip - getaway time is sooooo good for a relationship. And I LOVE the vow renewal idea in 9 years! :yay: That will be fun to plan!!

I'll catch up over on your other TR ASAP!
