This is my first post on the camping board and I have a hypothetical question I guess. Something my DH and I talked about this weekend. I will be traveling from Florida to Pennsylvania every 3 to 4 months to see my DR. We went in March and it was almost a 19hr trip. We broke it up and stopped at hotels. And drove up in a Ford Fiesta. Nice and comfy but small lol. It was really hard on me cause we drove through almost straight. But we had small amount of time and had to get there and get back. Ok sorry I am rambling. Anyway we were talking about getting a popup or lighter TT for me to travel back and forth with. That way I can stop when tired. But we would also have to get a vehicle to tow it with as well. Are pop ups easy to set up? Would I be able to do it by myself? I would more than likely be traveling alone to the DR. We would also do some traveling in it. So I just wonder if this sounds like a good idea or a stupid idea. I am not a fan of flying and the prices are going to keep getting worse. But then again so is gas. Just need some words of wisdom I guess. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the camping board. :thumbsup2
Not sure how easy a popup is to set up, I'd say it depends on the person doing the setting up. A small TT would be easier. Will you be using it in winter?
It would definitely be much easier/economical to store the popup/TT at a campground or friend/relatives than to drive it back and forth.

Thanks for the welcome!

Yes more than likely will be driving in winter as well. Which should be a hoot as I have never driven on snow.

If you plan on doing this by yourself I would sugest something like an A-Liner type of pop up. they are very easy to set up with one person and would have plenty of room.

I think I was looking at them online. They don't have bathrooms right? I really would at least need a toilet. I stumble and fall just getting to mine here in the house :rotfl:

They won't sleep 14 people like a regular pop up but they are nice for a couple.

I agree with that:thumbsup2
Most pop up campers turn into one big bed when folded out. I think you would be more happy with the Aliner Expidition anyway.

Ok wow that seems pretty easy. I told DH I would need many practice tries before I headed off by myself if we decide to do this. Thanks so much for your advice, wisdom and the link!

You are very welcome:cloud9:
I'm not sure if my DW would embark on such a journey by her self you must be much braver than her:worship:

Well I don't really know about that lol. It just would be very difficult for DH to take off work. I have traveled by myself to TN and other places just not towing a rv type of thing.
