Hi! My name is Loralee and my family & I are new DVC members. We have our first trip to OKW coming up in the first week of September. I have a three year old and I was wondering if anyone could help with room requests. Is there a particular area (or rooms?) that we should ask for or avoid? We would like to be near the bus but, a quiet area is our main concern as my little guy is a very light sleeper. Also, my husband has a handicap sticker for parking purposes-will this help us in our request for a first floor room? Any advice is appreciated! TIA!

Welcome to the board!! I'll preface this with the "room requests are requests only", but that being said I always request a first floor room near the hospitality house since DH is visually impaired. We have recieved a room that fits these specifications each and everytime. Be sure you tell Member Services that the request is for medical purposes! I've never had a problem with noise in the buildings close to the HH(we've stayed in 11&12).

Have a great time at OKW, its a lovely resort!

I highly recommend bringing a "white noise" machine with you. Especially on vacation, when you can't control the outside noises. We never worry about hallway or outside noise with this, and it ensures a restful sleep for all!

Have a great trip!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! And Carolyn, you are so right about the white noise machine-I had forgotten about that. Thanks for reminding me to bring it along. :)

Here is a map of OKW below in case you don't have one. "Welcome to the DIS" prinny20!!

Welcome Home and welcome to the DIS :)

Enjoy your first trip. If you state medical reason for a special room assignment they will give that a priority. We have that need, as do others, and Disney has always been happy to assist.

At the risk of being annoyingly redundant, I thank you all for the warm welcome! You all could not be nicer and more helpful-maybe it comes from spending so much time at Disney? :D If so, I hope it rubs off on me!

Nick & Cindy, thanks for the map-I did not have it and it will help immensely.
