Hey everyone,
Like the subject box title thing says, I'm new, I'm young, and so very lost in this world of wedding talk and planning and honeymooning plan. Unlike most brides for some reason I am planning from the end to the beginning just because we picked Disney World as our number one Honeymoon! I am so excited all because I am from Upper Michigan and the only other state I have been to is Wisconsin, which does not really count based off of the fact that it was a city on the state line. Even tho my DF has been to Disney Land twice we thought we could go together to share even more with each other and just to be our corny selves! So here I was on the Knot and I some how found myself here, and THANK YOU for being here, because I could use some help. How do I plan for this Honeymoon? We're not getting married till September 10th, 2010. But I have really bad OCD and Things just need to be planned out. I was thinking of doing the wedding and honeymoon in Disney World but we don't really have the money for that, so we settled on just the honeymoon for a week or two. So if anyone could give me tips, ideas, or anything would be amazing, my DF has picked for us to stay at the contemporary resort. And we also are planning to to a registry for our honeymoon if that helps at all.
Thank you all so very much, and so far I can tell this forum will be very helpful. princess:

you could always do an escape wedding they are affordable and all in all disney really isn't that expensive for a wedding unless you want it to be,
it would have cost me 10-15 thousand more to have it at home in a hotel or country club..
look in to it, plus there is allot of things you can do yourself to save money
make your own invites
make your veil
look for things on ebay

all of us past and current brides are more than happy to help you!!

myself, wendy (mistress of all evil), carrie (lurkyloo) and Caryn (caryndisney diva) all got married around same time and made so much of our own stuff and all did it pretty affordable Carrie is the greatest with saving money find her TR it was beautiful.

HI! Welcome to the boards :)

If you have your heart set on a disney wedding it can be affordable so look into that.

As for planning the honeymoon, the disboards is great...go to the Theme Parks board,Restaurant board and the resort boards. they helped me out a lot.

Allears.net is very helpful as well...Oh and the time of year you are going is free dining so that is awesome!!!!!

Lynn :)

Congrats and welcome! :welcome: Planning your honeymoon will be so much fun! There are restaurants to choose and park itineraries to create. Some of that can't be done until you are closer to your date, but you should check out the restaurants sub-forum and go to wdwinfo.com to look at restaurant menus. Of course, those could change in the next year or so, but it will give you an idea of the atmosphere of the various restaurants and the types of food they serve. Have fun with the planning!

Hi!

I would suggest just reading as much as you can about honeymoons on this board, and, as Lynn suggested, checking out the restaurant, theme park and resorts boards. When I first started here I did a lot of searches on topics I had questions about and turned up tons of good stuff. If the Search engine at the top of the page (third from the right in the navy blue bar) doesn't work (cuz sometimes it doesn't) try typing your search terms into Google along with the phrase "site:disboards.com" without the quote marks.

Also you can ask us anything and we'll share our ideas and experiences!
:goodvibes

Oh, and there's a link to my trip report, as suggested by Firefly01, below the pictures in my signature, under "Trip!"

Welcome to the boards!!! This site is full of information on most things Disney but if you have questions ask away!!!

Welcome to the boards!!

I have only been on here a couple of months and I have found out so much stuff!

Have you been on the wish book on the disney website? Might be a good idea to give you a (very) rough idea of prices and stuff for a disney wedding.http://www.disneyweddings.go.com/wishbook/register.jsp

Like FIREFLY01 said, I don't think there is much difference in prices between a disney wedding and an at home one, and some members have done really well to stick to the $10,000 minimum. Maybe try looking through peoples pj to find out there overall costs etc

Yes he does, but I wont tell him that because then he will take over the planning haha. I'm very lucky that he picked me. :lovestruc He wants to be part of every discussion, every meeting, just everything, he even picked our wedding date ( I picked the season he picked the date so now later in the years he can't forget because he picked the date :cheer2: . Our date is 09-10-10, my only issue with a disney wedding is that we both come from pretty big size families. And neither of my parents are in my life and his father passed away when he was younger so closeness is everything with our families. I read on the escape wedding page that we can't have no more then 20. . . We're just gonna have to cut some people. Our grandparents are not very good travelers even tho my grandparents have a timeshare in FL. . .I'm gaining more questions everytime I type a word.

But yes, I told my FI this morning after I picked up our nieces that I had a major idea and he was going to love me even more now, and he loved the idea of doing the wedding and honeymoon in Disney.
