First Post-Natal Rant

Awwww.....I can't believe that little angel would do such a thing like keep her daddy awake!;) :p This too shall pass!

She is such a little doll and has already changed from her first pics!

Congrats on staying away from the nicotine.:D

Pat,
When she is in your arms and safely quietly snuggling look at her sweet peaceful face and etch it into your mindseye. They grow so fast and you need those special moments to get you through the teenage years, lol. You can do it on the no smoking, take it one day at a time. Heck I held onto 1 cigarette for a month as a safety net, poor thing was in pieces and crumbled when I finally threw it away, and that was 11 years ago Oct. 6th. You can do it Pat! Sleep will come again, I promise!

Pixie Dust.....************** sprinkling and gently breezing your way!

Everybody's right--even though you are sleep-deprived, cherish these moments because they grow up so fast:( It is hard in the beginning but it will pass. And stay away from those yucky cigarettes. Dealing with difficult employees is good practice for those lovely teenage years. Have a great weekend and give Kimberly a hug:D

Pat,

Don't light up the cigs! You have been so strong and supportive for your ladies - look at them and give them a big hug and kiss and remember your promise. You can do this because it is for them as much as it is for you!

As far as nightly duty, my DH did more than his fair share - here's how we decided who got up for the cry of parent duty:

I am basically blind without my contacts or glasses, DH is 20/20 vision. We have a digital alarm at the wall at foot of the bed. My DH would ask me odd or even, if I picked the last digit in the time correctly as odd or even, he would have to get up with DD. Do you know I hardly ever missed! Or was that DH just too sweet and lied to me, so he could take the special snuggle night watch.

DH and I would put on a CD and head downstairs to the big comfy rocking chair for that time. We've danced and rocked to the music.

Once my DH came home from work with a memo he wrote to DD about her late night escapades. Its now in her baby book.

As far as your contractors go...ever read "A Year in Provence"? Funny book. Not funny if its your home and contractors, though.

Hang in there!

Pam

How wonderful for Amy to have you! And you are getting some special bonding time with Kimberly that my DH longed for. Since our DD was breastfed, the nighttime feedings were up to me. DH felt soooo left out! Just hang in there! She will be sleeping thru the night before you know it. In the meantime, I'll share with you my special middle-of-the night lullaby:

Go to sleep,
Go to sleep,
And staaaay asleep,
Until 6 a.m.
Then you can wake again.
:D :D :D

Pat,
As others have said, sleep will come back to your life eventually and you will fondly remember these bonding nightime feedings the two of you shared. (Until the teenage years, when once again you are not sleeping while you are awaiting her safe arrival home in the middle of the night.)

But, meanwhile, whenever you get the urge to smoke, simply insert threatening cigarette into aforementioned smelly toes for 30 minutes before lighting up. That might get rid of the desire....
