Hi,

We're just starting to educate ourselves about Disney cruise options and its pretty overwhelming.

All I know now -

Target trip date - April 2004 (20 year anniversary)
Travelers - Parents, son 15, daughter 13
7 day crusie - haven't decided where yet

When would I need to book the crusie?
Is April a good or crazy time to go?

What is the best way to start learning about booking a cruise?

Thank you, thank you

You'll save money by booking the week not around the Easter holiday. Those 2 weeks would be much more than other April periods. You can book any category except a 12 or a 7. Those only hold 3 people. Book as early as possible for the best savings. I booked 19 months in advance. As soon as the dates become available, go ahead and book. You'll pay a deposit which is fully refundable up to 60 days prior to sailing if your plans change.

Cat. 11 has a single bathroom and the room is a bit smaller. Cat. 10 thru 5 are about the same room, either inside, with a porthole, or with a verandah, depending on your wants and your budget. The category 4 is a bit larger with enough space at the end of the room to flip a murphy bed from the wall.

You can look at the DCL website and choose "Get a quote" That willl tell you generally how the price will vary within the month. Get quotes from DCL, Costco, others are cruise411 and Dreams Unlimited which sponsors this board. You can find out so much information here. Also read disneycruiser.com which has a lot of information.

I just received a quote from DU for end of April-they quoted $1300. for each adult then $280. each for my 5 and 6 year old-remember when you are comparing prices-make sure your quote is being compared equally such as are government charges and port charges included in what ever the quote is and so on-I checked at least 9 different TA's before settling on one price-
