First picture of Princess Tiana meet and greet character

:cool1::cool1: Yahoo!!! The fairies and a new princess all in one trip!! DD will be psyched!!! :cool1::cool1:

Looks like we'll be missing her by a month also. When I was at work today (I work at a movie theater), I noticed that this is one of the movie trailers in Julie & Julia. It's the first time I saw it. Just a little bit of extra info.

I'm not sure exactly where the meet and greet will be, but she'll also be part of a new show called Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee that will run Oct. 26 - Jan. 3. Here's how the Los Angeles Times describes it:

Tied to the upcoming “The Princess and the Frog” hand-drawn animated movie, Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee will feature a procession of jazzy musicians and performers parading through New Orleans Square at Disneyland and Frontierland at Disney World.

As the “second-line” procession reaches the Rivers of America dock, a group of pre-selected theme park visitors will board the waiting riverboat (the Mark Twain at Disneyland and the Liberty Belle at Disney World) where Princess Tiana and other “The Princess and the Frog” characters will greet them.

After departing, the riverboat will stop along the riverfront for a performance including songs from the film. The show will be repeated several times a day, with viewing areas along the waterfront.

The article also has a very nice close up shot of Tiana. You can see it here:

:)

She is super cute!!! I'm so excited it's silly! Can't wait to see the show in December!!! Thanks for this info!!!:disrocks:

I am SOOOOOO excited for a new princess story in true Disney fashion!!! And she is adorable!!! I imagine they are priming her to become one of the *forever at Disney* princesses. I really hope we come across her and her jazzy musicians in Frontierland in Nov. :yay::yay::yay:

"Tiana's Showboat Jubilee" sounds like a great way to present the new characters! I'd love to see that.

In a possible win-win situation - does such a major presentation of the Princess & the Frog characters at MK mean that the Up gang might get to stay longer at the studios, I wonder?

If this is any indication (and I believe it most definitely is) if you go to the Disney Princess website on disney.com she is front and center and has been for a couple of months now.

I will be in Disney World early October. Man, that means I will have to make a trip back to see her:rolleyes1 LOL

She's beautiful! I'm sad that we'll miss her. DD is excited for the new movie!

But the skirt on that dress is huge! Wow!

Love the girl....hate the dress. Its so thick looking and bulky. That girl is going to be miserable in the heat. Look at the layers on that thing. And whats with the color of it? A crisp white would have complimented her skin so well. The color she is wearing looks dingy.

That pretty smile can make up for anything I guess.

I'm sure I don't know what I'm talking about, but there's a lot of confusion (at least for me) around this.

Best I can tell, the Riverboat Jubilee (which actually takes place on a riverboat - i.e., the Mark Twain) is only at Disneyland. Al Lutz who is cited in the LA Times article only talks about Disneyland and when I reported on it several days ago, it was based on Disneyland actively casting for this specific show.

Disneyland also states it will start November 6 with rehearsals beginning in October.

So I'm not sure where the LA Times got that it was happening on the Liberty Belle either. When I asked about it, Attractions Magazine said they got 'confirmation' from a 'Disney rep' for it but in their article, they seemed to have backpeddled from that and simply state it will be a special meet & greet area (under the same name)

which itself isn't a surprise. WDW is actively casting for Tiana, Naveen and Dr. Facilier for 'shows, parades and meet & greets.'

Not sure where the October 26 date came from, but I always anticipated they'd be starting in October anyway so that's probably right.

I can easily see the riverboat thing happening in Disneyland, especially with the view of the Rivers of America by NOS (if you've seen the F! pre-show there, I think it makes *perfect* sense) but I don't see that happening as smoothly in MK, let alone Frontierland.

as an aside, DisneylandNews on Twitter openly announced it yesterday. No such word from WDW.

ETA: it's also probably worth noting that Disneyland is also casting for vocalists for the riverboat show. No such comparable casting at WDW as of yet.

Princess Tiana looks very pretty and although the dress is huge, I like it. princess:

Here's hoping that she'll be around for M&G for a while because I know DD would love to meet her but we won't be back to WDW for ages. :cutie:

I think it would be great if they add her to some or all of the princess meals.

We are going to WDW the week before Thanksgiving and I have been praying that Princess Tiana would be out so my daughter could meet her! It would be great if she is added to the princess meals! I wonder if anyone knows about that? Anyway thanks for sharing! This is why I procrastinate from my chores so I can learn important information! :thumbsup2

I also think the gown is beautiful! It probably looks bulkier than it is, or atleast no more bulkier than Belle's or Cinderella's.

I would love to see Tiana, but I also wanted to see the characters from Up! I was so disappointed to hear that someone said that the Up! characters will be replaced at the end of October by G-Force characters.

I, for one, think that gown is breathtaking! WOW!-- I personally would not want to be walking around in the hot Florida sun in that all day, but as far as looks go, I think it's beautiful (and so is the Princess). I hope she's there in May (hey come to think of it, we're staying at Port Orleans-- cool coincidence!).

Disclaimer: I know absolutely nothing about anything, but... A) I can't imagine them even having the G-Force characters (sorry, they may be characters that are animated, but I don't think of them as "official" Disney Animated Characters). B) If they were going to have G-Force characters, October seems awfully late to trot them out - the movie will be long out of theatres by then, which kind of defeats the purpose. The next film that is a logical addition for meet & greets is "Princess & the Frog," and from all accounts, the P&tF characters are going to the MK. I can't see any logical reason for them to drop the "Up" characters any time soon - but, as I said, I know nothing.:confused3

I hope the dates are right, because that's exactly when we get there and DD is very excited about this movie since it comes out on her birthday. I'll definately be keeping my eyes and ears open about it :)
