What is the pic on your first page in your disney scrapbooks? This will be our first family trip and I'm excited about all the pics I'm going to be taking. (just bought a digital camera to take along with my SLR). What are some must have's for your scrapbooks? :flower:

i have our formal pix, w/the ship in the backdrop!

oh...you have to go pick up those luggage tags! they come in various colors, w/various characters!

and save EVERYTHING!!!

have fun! :flower:

Bring along a tote to put everything in. I always got an extra set of park maps and such so that I could have a perfect set to include in my book. I saved all stubs, fast passes, even a stir from Planet Hollywood lol
One year I got sand formthe beach and put it in a film canister bottle.

My first picture is ususally the one I love the best.

The first pic in ours is the one taken at Chef Mickey's. It ended up being the only picture with all 4 of us in it.

1 album has a 'cast of characters' where I took a favorite picture of each of us on the trip and put the name and age with it...

another has NO PICTURE !
Just the risiculous expensive $8 3 dementionsla sticker of the Gang along with the year... and cardstock etc...

I have a non Disney album that I love the first page 0- and I am going to do the same title page for that - Its a mosaic of all kinds of pictures punched to 1x1 size...

The first picture in our scrapbook is of our stone in front of Ticket and Transportation Center. :)

Our first picture is of the statue of Walt and Mickey with tags of the different parks and one tag that says "Our Trip 2004" :)

Be sure to bring some large ziplock bags (2 gallon) to bring home memorabilia. You can always get rid of what you don't need later, but you can't go back and get what you left behind.

Jeanne

PS Still trying to decide which page will be first for the cruise album...

We started a "Countdown to disney" paper chain when we still had 60 days until we left, so the first page in my DD6 holding this HUGE paper chain, then a picture of it with 30 links and a picture of just her just holding one link. It made a really cute Countdown page. The first picture on the next page is all of us waiting for the 1st Disney bus to pick us up and take us to the park.

I've used: a group shot in the airport/with the car on a couple and on one book, a picture that we purchased in the park on the front page.

What to look for: I bring home at least 3 copies of each park map and anything free I can get my hands on - paper napkins, copies of recipes from the restaurants, if you get iced tea in a sit down restaurant - it usually has a pic through the lemon from the park you're in, ask for free stickers in the shops. I've also taken home popcorn boxes and I have asked in the counter service restaurants for basket liners (looks like tissue paper to me), French fry baskets and more. No - I'm not shy in the least. I do try to explain that I'm a scrapbooker and I've never had a refusal from a CM (yet!).

Have a wonderful time!

I try to get one picture of the four of us together precisely for that purpose. If I am good, I remember to get two, one for the first and last page! I love one with us and Mickey for the first and one of us in front of the castle holding Tink for the last page.

Mine is a picture of Mickey's float in the parade at MK. It says it all started with a mouse in the front of the float. I figured that was a good kick off phrase. There is also a sticker of mickey and I made some mickey head balloons that say _____ Family's First WDW vacation July 2004. (Sorry I don't post my last name)

Take gallon size ziploc bags in the park with you. They hold a lot of stuff and will keep it from getting wet. Get maps, fast passes, menus, and pictures from rides. I photo copied(on scrapbook paper) the envelope the picture we had done from test track and I'm using it as a background for the picture. Oh don't forget postcards, bracelet charms, pressed pennies, and anything else that's not nailed down. :rotfl:

Jeanne is right you can't go back and get it once your home.

All my vacations start with our trip itinerary....think a big grid from excel.... My planner DH always plans and colorcodes our days (morning, afternoon and evening)...e.g. green for park days, blue for waterparks, yellow for non-Disney, peach for a 'wild card' TBD. It's really fun and helps us remember the trip - - even if I took fewer pictures one day than the other.

If this is your kids first time on an airplane I would save their boarding passes and try to get a "first flight certificate" signed by the pilot and crew (Delta). Sometimes they give out little wing pins. I have a scrap book page in my kids albums dedicated the their first flight. The kids love looking at the plane ticket and flight certificate...which,even better, is "free"!! You can also get a mono rail pilot certificate if you get lucky enough to go for a ride in the front car which was also a big event for my boys and was also "free"!!

I took a picture of my 2 sons with their fingers making a number one next to the calendar on our playroom wall at home. The one referring to one day left before our trip began. In the background you can see the large calendar with the days marked clearly. When I scrapped it, I titled it "One More Day!" I also took a picture of all our luggage waiting to be put into our van the next day for our trip to the airport. On the next page I added our baggage stubs for the plane, a couple small pictures at the airport....one in front of the departure sign showing our flight, one of the baggage handlers loading our luggage on the plane and one on the plane, some wings our boys got from the flight attendant, and cut out a southwest plane from one of their brochures I picked up at the airport.

This first picture is of all four of us in front of the Main Street Station. Great picture and great colors....have fun!
