We had our first open house and not one person came to it. Has this happened to anyone else. We worked so hard to get it ready and nobody came. There are 3 houses on our street and all had open house and nobody cam eto any of them!! Both of the other people have new houses to move into so I feel really bad for them. We don't have to move or sell we just want to. We like our house just wanted to get closer to my fil and where we go to church.

Sorry. I know it is so hard to have your house for sale. You have to keep it perfect, strangers trapsing through and never getting the price you want.
Hang in there!

When we were selling we had a special open house just for realtors - that seemed to help our next "regular" one.

Hope you get some traffic soon!

Sorry it didn't work out. It could just be the time year. People opening up summer places before Memorial Day Graduation partys etc. Give it a few weeks before you try again.

I don't know about your area, but we have a lot of houses for sale in our neighborhood. The house four doors down just sold after a year and a half on the market. There is one on the next block that has been on the market for two years. I am sure it will swing the other way eventually, but right now it is more of a buyer's market. Hang in there, find a way to make your house stand out from the crowd, and be glad you are selling because you want to and not because you have to!

I held an open house for a condo I listed and nobody showed. It happens.

Definitely ask about a Broker Open House. They get great responses.

Also, ask your Realtor to get a loan officer involved. Having both of them spreading the word is a great way to increase potential traffic.

This is such a busy time of year with the end of school activities. Hopefully, your next open house will get more interest! Here's some pixiedust:!

I found nosy neighbors were the only ones that ever came to an open house anyway.

Sorry about that. Last month I was in charge of 2 open houses and not one person came to either one. The family that lived there was devastated. The reason no one came to our open house was because the price was too high and the real estate market here is terrible at the moment. And this open house was advertised in the newspapers, plus 4 online websites, and there were signs:sad2: But not one person. Unfortunately, it does happen. Good luck next time!:cheer2:

Yes I am glad I am selling because we want to and not have to. I know it is not a good market right now so we shall see. I will have to ask about a open house for realtors only. I think I will try another one the first week in June. The town by us has big festival that weekend and a ton of people will be driving by our street. It is one of the only ways to get to this town. So maybe that will help.

I can relate, we had one yesterday (though we've had many over the last 9 months it has been on the market) and this is the first one that no-one came to because it was very rainy yesterday.

That could go either way.

If it really is one of the only ways to get to your town, with a big festival in town, you may give some potential buyers the idea that you live on a busy street, even if it is not when there isn't a festival around.

But on the plus side - at least you would be visible to more people and potentially have more customer traffic.

Back to your original question - we have had open houses where nobody showed. I would definitely agree with asking for the broker open house. When the brokers are familiar with a house, they are more apt to show it.

Hang in there, it will sell.

Sorry no one showed up. It could have just been a bad weekend. I know in our area all of the local pools opened this weekend, great weekend to be working out in the yard, etc.

The fact that all 3 houses were no shows, leads me to believe it was just a bad time. Better luck next time.
