First Non-Park Day Ever - What to Do???

Unless you've seen them all before, take some time to check out the amenities of the resorts that are within walking distance of the Dolphin, too: the Swan, Yacht and Beach Club, and BoardWalk Inn.

We are able to visit WDW almost every year in part because we watch our $$$ and make sure we get our value out of what is spent on every vacation. We stay on-site and so have access to the most beautiful, magical resort. Also, TL is the only waterpark we visit. We build days into our visit to WDW to enjoy this part of the World. If you are a frequent visitor, you will discover that the 4 parks are only part of the magic.

My DH and I work and both kids are in HS and have part-time jobs ... when spring break rolls around, we want to have some relaxing time in the SUN (we're from Michigan ... when is this winter going to end????).

That's why our non-park days are just as important and enjoyable as those in the parks.

We're also a family that enjoys a week camping and sunning on the shores of Lake Michigan during the summer. We are definitely lucky to have kids who can also enjoy the more quiet things in life.

TRAPPED-PARENT,

We're pretty similar in that regard. We hit WDW about once a year and consider it out 'active' vacation. Each June we spend a week @ Myrtle Beach and pretty much vegetate the whole time.Tthe most strenuous thing I do is the 12 hr drive down & back. In addition, we take the WDW trip at the beginning or end of winter, which this year in Pa. has been pretty harsh. The quick change in weather really lights a fire under us and the thought that we won't be back for another 365 days makes us want to do things that we can't do elsewhere at almost any time.

I'm actually looking forward to one down day, we were forced by the heat to take an afternoon off last Nov. and enjoyed it. Maybe we'll try to take in a Braves exhibition game if they're playing then.

I think the last game is the day we arrive, March 27th. I suggested to DH that we go (he is a big BB fan, I'm not) ... but he said, typically, they won't have the "big guys" playing in their last spring training game because they'll be "saving" them for the first season game (makes sense).

Anyway, I did talk him into taking his clubs ... got him a travel case for Christmas. He's going to be doing Eagle Pines and Osprey Ridge (twilight rates, of course) for the first time after drolling over them for so many years!!!
