I would like to know if there are any of you that have a first night at WDW "must do". Ours is Illuminations. I get such a great feeling when I'm watching those fireworks on our first night, knowing it's just the beginning of the most magical week of my year! I would love to hear what you all do!!Share the magic!!:)

We always have our first meal at Chef Mickey's and have our first and last day at Magic Kingdom. :)

We usually check in around 1pm so we hurry up and unpack. Since MK is only open until 6pm mostly we go there for a few hours and then return to our resorts for our first Kona's dinner! Not long now!

Sleep :p !!

Its usually well around midnight UK time by the time we've reached our hotel room (after an 18 hour day), sometimes DH will take DD for a swim whilst I upack the essentials. Then we're up bight and early the next morning for EE :D

MGM for a couple rounds of Tower of Terror. I need to hear my song right away, or I won't know where I am!

We also go see Illuminations.... we normally check in by 10:00, relax a little and then head to Epcot.

We usually take the 1st flight out so we can get there w/ plenty of time to check in, change into our VACATION clothes [!!], have an attitude adjustment, then grab lunch at the food court at Port Orleans Riverside. Then we head over to EPCOT so we can get in several hours of fun. Funny, though, we never thought of this schedule as a "tradition" -- it just seemed logical, but I guess it is a tradition.

We have our own Illuminations tradition as well. My travelling companions grab a spot & I head over to Norway or France & pick up some pastries, coffee, & herbal tea for the wait. They know what I'm doing by now, although I never say where I'm off to. What exactly I get is a surprise for them, but everything is so yummy it doesn't much matter WHAT I get!

Usually we drive in, which means we end up getting there in the afternoon/evening. After settling down for the evening, I like to go to Downtown Disney, walk and do some shopping. Then I can get to bed at a fairly decent time and be able to go to the park bright and early the next morning. I always end my trip with Magic Kingdom.

It is tradition that we always have lunch or dinner at the Garden Grill after we check in. My family and I LOVE it there! :Pinkbounc

Our first day tradition is relaxing by the pool after arriving (we're usually at the hotel by 11:00 and most times in our room by 12:00) Then we head to Chef Mickey's for dinner and time it so that we're riding the monorail around the resort loop just as the MK fireworks are starting! It's such a great way to start our vacation! :Pinkbounc

after years of sporadic trips to wdw, i finally got bit by the mouse and am hooked! i'm planning on frequent trips forever now!

on our last trip, our first 'official' tradition was born! i booked a surprise sit-down meal for the first night, at someplace we hadn't tried before. we ate at ohana's and loved everything about it!

this trip will find us at cape may clambake on november 6! also have booked chef mickeys for mid-trip surprise :)

also, after trying all three AS's, we now call asmu 'home'! i can't justify spending much on hotel, as i love a bargain and we're only there to sleep and shower. so that's where we'll be whenever we head for wdw; value rates also make it easier for me to break the news to dh that the kids and i are going back-again!

We always spend our first day at MK --- want to see main street and the castle. Then first dinner is at Chef Mickeys and back to MK for fireworks.

a first day tradition for us is to have dinner at chef mickeys and then we go to the top of the contemp to watch the fireworks and the water light parade...we have done this as the first day for our last 4 trips to the world and will be there again on december 26th (can't wait!!!!)....
have fun!!!!

Another vote for Chef Mickey's. This is always our first dinner and our last breakfast. After dinner we take a ride the whole way around on the monorail.

After checking in and unpacking a little we head out to dinner at 'Ohana. Yum!

I also discovered something that I think will make a good tradition on our last trip. We went to MVMCP the night we arrived. It was a great way to get into that Disney mood, and it was nice to move around after the long car ride. We'll be doing that again this year. :)

For me I usually get there by mid day check in and head for the parks. I have to see either Mickey or Minnie on my first day. It works great for me this time since I'll be eating at Chef Mickey's that night.

Good question! I've been thinking of our first night at WDW since we'll have another one soon .... in less than 4 weeks. Yeah!

Our first day/night tradition .... check in at the Poly .... have lunch at Kona Cafe .... relax at the pool .... have dinner at Chef Mickey's .... watch EWP and FITS (guess it's Wishes now) from the dock at the Poly .... go to sleep .... and hit the MK the next morning!

What fun!!!

If it is night time, we walk into Epcot and catch illuminations.. if it is early morning.. we head over to the MK and our first ride traditionally is Pirates of the Caribbean...

We always check-in, eat lunch, unpack, and head for the Magic Kingdom. Our traditional first night dinner is Cinderella's Royal Table and we end the night by watching the fireworks from Main Street. Since we've "switched" from the Floridian after seven years to the BWI, I may have to deviate a little from the rest of our trip traditions.
