First Night of Split Stay (One Night Only) - Which All-Star Resort?

So, kicking around where to stay the first night of a split stay. We are landing in Orlando around 8:30 p.m. on a Wednesday night and taking MDE to whichever resort we select for that night. We'll be heading over to Beach Club the following morning to check in there for the rest of the trip. I need two rooms and don't want to spend a ton of money since all we'll really be doing is sleeping wherever we choose. I initially thought about putting everyone in a single room at Beach Club for the night (5 adults) but that would be a bit cramped and since I can get two rooms for less at other resorts I'm leaning towards the two room option. We've never stayed at the All Star resorts and I'm thinking one of those might work since they are pretty reasonably priced. Any reason that one would be better than the other for our purposes?

Thanks in advance.

We are doing the same thing, landing at 8:30 on a Wednesday and switching to AKL Thursday morning. We originally picked All Stars Music but were able to use a discount and got Pop Century for cheaper. We figured we might go back to Pop Century someday so it might be nice to check it out. Plus we could request a king bed there. Maybe pick one that you might want to go back to again. If that's never going to happen, I think the All Stars are all pretty much the same in this scenario.

Thanks for the info. Was thinking about Pop too but it isn't available the one night we are looking.

On edit, Pop is now showing as available, and since it has a king bed option that is definitely worth considering. Good call!

Yes it is! A king bed isn't a guarantee sadly, but at least you can request one there. I think it'll be perfect for one night before transferring.

Or, since you arrive so late, have you considered an airport hotel, or even the Hyatt in the airport? Then you could take Magical Express very early in the morning to go to the Beach Club the next day. Just a thought.

We are doing something similar. Staying at All Star Music suite with 4 adults and 2 kids. Then AKL. I booked on a different disney account so we get 6 extra magic bands for more FP. One adult has limitations walking/standing but refuses assistance. At least I can help him with more FP. An option for you anyway.

Yeah, I kicked it around, but I think I prefer to get to whatever Disney resort that night. That way I can drop our luggage off with the concierge in the morning and let them transfer it to Beach Club while I take an early cab/Uber over, check in, and then head to the parks by 8:30 a.m. or so.

Can't you just check in online and go directly to the park from resort #1?

I think so! Unless you have a ticket tied to resort #2, then maybe you need to go to guest services to activate the ticket. Same goes for dining plan, but should be easy.

To the OP, I understand wanting to get on property. I'd just go with whatever is cheapest, since you'll just sleep! Don't have ME transfer your luggage though. I'd want it with me that late.

Yeah, true, forgot about that. Last time we did a split stay we found out our magic bands weren't activated when we got to the park in the morning, so had to go stand in line at guest service (after standing in line at the turnstiles) which was a bit irritating.
