We have just booked a trip and we will be in Disney for New Years eve, anyone have any suggestions on where is the best place to be other than the obvious Pleasure Island?
Is there a different or special fireworks display at Magic Kingdom or Epcot?
Thanks

We partied at Epcot a few years back for New Years. They set up dance floors throughout the park and in each of the countries. I probably don't have to tell you that the drinks flow pretty easy late on New Years Eve, and Disney sets up plenty of extra spots to get champagne, beer, wine and mixed drinks. The crowd gets pretty rowdy, in a good, fun way, and Epcot stays open until 2 am I believe.

Let me just say that New Year's at the Magic Kingdom ROCKED!!! :cool1: You have to get there early because they close the doors. We got there at 8:00 am. I think they said that the gates closed at 10:30. Even if you were there, you couldn't leave and come back. We sat in front of the castle across the little river down where the picnic tables are. It was amazing. The fireworks were all around you, and the midnight countdown was great! Don't plan on riding much cuz it is packed!! We just sat around all day. Just remember, Magic Kingdom is a Dry Kingdom!

I was at Disney this past New Year's. I thought that it would be totally awesome. In some respects it was (the great fireworks and special activities), but the crowds were horrendous. We got stuck first in Mexico at Epcot. Traffic was at a standstill. Then we got stuck in Canada trying to get out. People were packed so tightly, I am surprised no one had a panic attack! We were stuck for a total of 2-3 hours trying to get out of the park and the CM's were having to yell at people to follow directions so that they could stop the standstill. While the fireworks are great, be wary of where you spend the holiday and make sure that you are going to feel comfortable and can easily get out of the park.

We were there NYE 2003 (for the NY 2004). My hubby doesn't like huge crowds and we knew it would be crowded everywhere. So we went to Animal Kingdom - it wasn't very crowded there because most folks were at MK or EPCOT. We spent some time on the Boardwalk and went to our room in the Dolphin around 11:30.

Our room at the Dolphin was on the end on a high floor and we could see the fireworks from EPCOT, MK and DTD (I think). MGM were having their fireworks show, but because of the way the building was we couldn't see those. Furthermore, off in the distance we could see other fireworks.....we figured they must have been Universal or Orlando or something. It felt like the whole world was celebrating! :teeth:

We really enjoyed it! We got up early on 1/1/04 and headed into EPCOT and the place was totally empty :earboy2: Everyone had been there late the night before!
