This will be my first marathon so forgive me for not knowing ANYTHING!

My parents are running the half marathon and my sister and I are doing the full. Can we buy a Chear Squad package for the Goofy and share it? Or is it tied to a specific person?

Also when I was looking at the regitration it said if you registered early you could get a personalized bib? When/How do you personalize it?

I'm reading as many reports etc as I can about marathon weekend but I'm sure these will not be my last quesitons! TIA for answers/tips!

You will have a wrist band, so sharing is not an option. The chear package is not really worth it IMO.
Personalized bib just means it will have your name on it...nothing for you to do.

Good to know about the Chear Squad. We were leaning away from it anyways but if we could have split a Goofy we might have reconsidered!
Thanks!

I will second the not worth it for MOST folks. Get out and about on the course to support one another. A great combination of places includes the TTC and Poly as a pair of spots on the half and full. My crew had time to get from the Poly to the DAK last year with the new course but I also had a couple issues last year so YMMV

Sounds good to me! I'm pretty sure we will all have park tickets for both days so we can go into the parks to spot each other as well! I'm just as happy to use whatever money we would have spent on the chear squad to add days to tickets if necessary!

I don't think the course has been posted yet but do you know of some good places to do hand off's? Like advil/water/snack/clothing type trades?

If you're talking the half course for January, I expect it would be the same as this year. The Ticket and transportation Center area is a good spot--about 1/3 of the way in the race. Good thing about this spot is that you can then walk over to Grand Floridian Way and catch people after they have left the MK ~mile 7. Only downside is that depending on pace, it would be a challenge to monorail it back for the finish if you do the GF way catch.

There is water on the course, and gel at at least one point.

Yes, plenty of water stations on the course. In fact at one point I remember thinking, "Is that ANOTHER one? I've hardly worked through the last water." We stayed at Shades of Green and the course ran right past it, so all my wife had to do was walk to the end of the driveway and wait for me around the time I'd be passing. Then she made it over to the finish and got a good seat in the stands. I told her I'd stay on the right side of the road so she positioned herself perfectly for pictures.

Keep asking those questions. You've got a bunch of runners here who love to talk about running!!

I see that some say it's not worth it for the cheer packages. I am planning on watching DH from the parks if possible. Is it worth it to have one of the packages?

I wrote about being a spectator using the ChEAR package on my blog after last year's marathon weekend.

Personally, I liked it.
I also like having the Race Retreat. I'm spoiled, I guess.

Thanks. I enjoyed reading that and it helped. I think I will get the cheer package. Now to decide which one. Since I will have DD the Platinum may be worth it.

Thank you for this. I purchased platinum chear package for my family for this years race but wasn't sure what to expect. I just knew I wanted them to be comfy and the bleachers last year were awful. So awful I signed up for my first marathon this year :)

I'm glad I could help! I think if you're the kind of person who doesn't mind paying a bit extra to have some elbow room and cold or hot drinks on hand while you're waiting, it's a nice alternative.
And that spot right in front of the castle can't be beat.
