For some reason I just picture the mayor (current or new) sitting at a desk with a sea of papers, reading visitor complaints, trying to balance the budget, etc. His/Her right elbow is on the desk with his/her head in hand just starting to feel the magnitude of the responsibility that is running Main Street.
He/She slowly reaches to the bottom desk drawer and starts to pull out a bottle of whiskey, but is interrupted. At that moment the whole group of Main Street Citizens open the door and say in unison, "Mayor...are you ready to open the park!?" with cheer on their face and love in their hearts.
He/She reluctantly closes the drawer without taking the bottle out as he/she mutters to himself/herself while begrudgingly putting his/her jacket on. "Time to open this place up" he/she says with severe disdain.
