I didn't make mine until I was 19 y.o.!
The girls I worked with at the time held one in the office for me! Your typical office party, cake, deli tray, punch, etc, and it was a complete surprise!
One woman brought me a cute little white purse (suited for an 8 y.o.) that I loved. It was the white purse I would've carried if I had made it when I was a little girl! It was too cute!
I was later confirmed by John Cardinal Kroll at St. Peter & Paul Basilica in Center City, Philadelphia. I've never been in a more beautiful church!
At the time, I couldn't get married in the Catholic church without making my communion and confirmation, even though I was baptized Catholic.
