First Haircut before MVMCP?

I'm officially a nutcase, I haven't cut my 3.5 year old dd's hair because the other 2 had their first haircuts at DW, and I wanted her to have it, too. So I waited until we could go. She's kinda old for a first haircut now, and her beautiful wavy auburn hair is almost to her waist. But darn it, I waited this long so we're doing it! :rotfl2:

So now I need to plan when. Do I need to make a reservation? Previously we just showed up and waited, but we never had to wait long. It seems like now you need a reservation for everything, though.

Tentatively I am planning on doing it the night we go to MVMCP. Here's my plan for the day, please tell me what you think. We are staying at the cabins at Ft Wilderness, and we have a car.

Wake up about 8 am, drive to the Poly, drop of my dad and the 3.5 year old (T) to check in for the Lilo and Stich breakfast at 9:30. Drive the older kids (C&S) over to the GF to check in for the Pirate Adventure Cruise by 9 am. Drive back to the Poly and have breakfast with dad and T. At 11:30 pick up C and S at the GF, and drive to the cabin for a nap. Get to the MK for the party about 4-ish. Have the haircut, and then enjoy the party.

My question is, are we going to miss anything if we stop and do that before the party starts? Or should we do it on another of our MK days? We will be there for 13 days total, so we have a few MK days planned.

With that many days, I think you will have plenty of time to do everything you want to do, so I wouldn't worry about missing anything by getting the haircut that day. Sounds like you would be done before most of the MVMCP events kick off anyway. I had my haircut at the MK barber shop during a recent trip, and no reservation was needed at the time. I just walked in. Obviously some days may be busier than others. I would try to get the haircut done early in your visit, though. That way if they are busy on the first day, you have plenty of time to go back.

I have never done it, but you could try calling Disney. I'm sure they will point you in the right direction!

They do take reservations now, so if you want to do it prior to the party it would probably be a good idea to make one. Since the party events don't start until 7 you won't be missing anything by stopping at the barbershop as soon as you enter the park, so I'd plan on checking for a reservation as close to 4 as you can get and doing that first thing.
