My dtr is 2 yo & really doesn't need a haircut yet but I really want the experience & memories of her first haircut at WDW. Do you think that would be silly to have them clip a piece of her hair (there is some to spare) for the experience & keepsake?

not silly at all. They get a certificate, a card and they save a lock of hair for you!

I think it is a great idea.
We watched a little boy (between 1 and 2) get his first haircut and it was so charming.

We got our daughter's first haircut there. She was 2 and a half. I received some of her hair mixed with pixie dust :goodvibes , and she got a certificate and "first haircut" mouse ears.

Not to hijack the thread or anything... BUT............
How was the haircut - was it ok? My oldest will be almost 4 when we go, and I want to get her first haircut there. I want them to give her bangs also - I just don't want it to be messed up at all!! So did they do a good job?
TIA!

Our daughter was almost 4 before her first haircut and we had it done at the barber shop in MK.. It was a lot of fun and they give the mickey ears that say first haircut. Our 1 year old had her first cut too.

They will even put colored streaks and pixie dust....she felt like a princess. The haircut was fine. My 1 year old got bangs and they looked adorable.

When we went in May, the first thing my daughter said when we walked in MK was "mommy can I get a haircut"...I thought that was hilarious.

PEANUT1 - Your daughters hair looks great! Not to be to nosey, but how much did that all cost? Was it a different price from just getting a regular cut?

TIA!

We did the first haircut when our boys were 11 months old, and it was great... you get the certificate, the hair and mouse ears... and it was really inexpensve... plus it made for a great memory!

I think the haircut was 14$ and it was 5$ more for the sparkles and all. It is cheap compared to the BBB prices and personally I think cuter. I think the BBB makes the girls look too old.

I think it is so worth it even if your kid has almost no hair.

our DD4 and DS2 just got their first haircuts there. DD just got a little trimmed off the ends, but DS had pretty long hair (shoulder length-ish) and got a traditional "boy" haircut. i thought they did a good job. he is an extremely active kid and he just sat there the entire time. we were amazed and hadn't expected it to go so smoothly. we were slightly traumatized by how different he looked, but it was definitely a decent haircut.

the cost was $14 each and i don't think there was a charge for the color/confetti with a haircut. i think it costs that much to get a haircut at walmart, so i thought it was cheap considering they got the mickey ears and certificate (and the pics/memories :goodvibes )

Once again, sorry to hijack, but......

We are going for 7 full days, and our BBB appt is on the 4th day. I was hoping to get her hair cut early on in the trip, but I don't know if I should wait till after the BBB.... what do you think? Right now, her hair is about 3-4 inches past her sholders, and by the time we go (in 6 months) it will be even longer. What do you think - wait till after BBB so to make sure they can get it up in the "up-do" or it won't be a problem?

TIA!!!

How short are you planning on having them cut it? I wouldn't imagine them having trouble with shoulder length hair, just as long as they can get it all on top of her head you should be fine. If you do that before BBB, just tell them that you'll be going there later on and want it long enough to be put up.
