The first flakes are starting now in Franklin. Fireplace is raging, and DW, DD, and I are hunkered down watching Honey I Shrunk the Kids. Next is beethoven.

Gotta love a lazy snow day!

Frankly, the first fluffy flakes in Franklin are falling frequently.

:D

3:47 in Mendon and it's snowing like crazy - boy did that come fast! Just got in from cake & ice cream at my parents - DD is 6 today! :) I also just came in from filling the bird feeders as it will be tough to do in the morning.

It's going to be crazy.....let's just hope no-one looses power...

just another neighbor checking in from bellingham, during this blizzardy night... trying to decide if I should actually do all the work for planning the Sunday School lesson that may or may not be cancelled tomorrow! I'm kinda tired, so as heathen as it sounds, I'm pulling for a lot of snow so it's cancelled!

Stay warm! It's bitter out there! Got in from sledding a while ago.. fun!

Say that fast 10 times. Phew.

Still coming down good in Oxford. I've got the pellet stove cranked up trying to get the house extra toasty in case the power goes out. We heat with the stove; and would have no heat if we lost power --- since everything in our house is electric. Going to try to do something about that in the next house.

All us "neighbors" should have a big Patriot's bash!

We actually have an invite from some people down the street. Anyone else hosting or going to a Pat's shindig?

Enjoy the snowy evening everyone!

I was driving through Mendon around 3:15 and saw a few flakes, by the time I got to the Imperial Buffet in Milford at 3:30, there were a few more. We ate quickly when we saw how fast the cars were getting covered....I used to live in Franklin, my friends still do, they got home a lot faster than I did. Rte 16 was wall to wall traffic all the way up to the hospital and of course I hit every red light possible.
stay warm everyone... hey Splash~how's that stew going??

Good Morning "neighbors",

Have you looked out the window yet? I had to shovel last night at 8:30p and 2:00a and 6:30a this morning all just to let my dogs out!!! It was ALOT of snow. I can't imagine if I had waited and done it all this morning.

We haven't even tackled the driveway yet. So right now we are trapped! Our walkway/driveway is probably 2 feet and the end of the driveway is 4 feet thanks to the plows!!

Have fun digging out and enjoy the game!

It's started back up here in Millis...lots of drifts out in the yard. Judging by the swingset out back, I'd guess we have about 2 feet right now. I just hope we don't lose power!!!!!!

Ya, it's nuts out there. We got at least a couple of feet. We are drinking coffee (DD has Apple Juice) watching Peeps wide world

I though am watching 7 news on the laptop.

Plow guy has not been back since early last night. So we will just be hanging. Got a 1yr olds b-day party this afternoon, might not make it. DD will not be happy.

Stay warm all-

Sooo...do you think the kids will have school tomorrow? DS10 has already started asking and I've told him to never count on a snow day....altho this will be tough to call.

Lots of DISers around this way..we should plan a meet at Southwick's this spring/summer. We are members and just love it and spend a lot of time there.

Jeanny...how is the Imperial Buffet? Have never been. We were at the Teppanyaki restaurant in Franklin friday night and that is always a favorite. More often than not with the kids we end up at Friendly's.....can't complain as I love their happy ending sundaes.. :)

Channel 5 is now reporting we are getting 2 - 3" of snow an hour - WOW! (8:52 a.m.)

Stay warm neighbors and hope the power stays on!

We also love Southwick's. We are not members, but we did go twice this past summer. DD likes the deer forrest. Also the "big stinky elephant"
Imperial Buffet is great! The biggest buffet I have seen. Options are not just Chinese. There is pizza, ribs, fruit, you name it, they got it. Even an ice cream/dessert buffet. Even the pickiest eater will find something. there is also a big Coy pond. Kids love to feed the fish. If you have any, bring some fish pellets. You could go broke feeding the food dispenser.

Hey Jill~
Imperial Buffet is very good. Big choice of chinese, american, pizza, they have a grill they cook your order right in front of you... big salad bar, lots of desserts, and it's inexpensive. You should try it sometime.

My mom likes Mendon Jade, she goes there at least once a week with my aunt and one of their friends, I didn't think their buffet compares to Imperial.

Well, here in Westborough I can finally actually see the house across the street from us!!!! Looks like a good day to stay in and watch football.
Dh is thanking heaven that we have a large dog!!! I can't imagine what folks do with little dogs in this kind of snow. Our golden went out this a.m. and just stood there, wondering why he couldn't see the ground!! Finally did his business but he was much happier when dh shoveled out the dog pen!! Now for the driveway!!!

Southwicks' sounds like a terrific idea for this summer!!

Thanks for the Imperial Buffet reviews - I'll have to give it a try!

At 10:55 I checked channel 5's website and Milford has already cancelled school for tomorrow - haven't seen any other local schools tho.

Yes, let's plan on a Sothwick Zoo DIS meet this year! Lots of space for everyone and different things to do.

Jill

Snow plow finally came and did our side road, and I can't see it from the first floor windows... the drifts in the yard are just too high! I live on a corner, so the other street, which is a main street looks pretty terrible too for being a main road! Probably will have to send the kids to school anyway tomorrow b/c Bellingham NEVER has a snow day... I don't think they believe in them!
