Hi All,

I just joined the forum. We are headed for our first family trip Dec 6-10. Staying at Pop Century. We have two kids - a 4 1/2 year old boy and little girl that will turn 2 just after our trip. We will also meet up with our family who live in Miami. So our full group is 10 people. I went previously on a school trip in high school but can't remember much.

I have been enjoying reading the forums. Looking forward to our trip.

:welcome:

Your trip sounds like a perfect first trip--you'll have family time and get to visit the parks and see how your kids enjoy the magic.

I'm not sure that you're looking for advice...but that's never stopped me before. :lmao: Make a short list of "must-do's" on this trip--there is so much to do at Disney, but with young kids & visiting with your family from Miami, you don't want to be stressed about doing Disney. Do, however, plan your meals & get some dining reservations (some with Miami family and some on your own) and schedule your FastPasses. You will return to Disney again, so anything that doesn't happen on this trip will be one more reason to go back!

Have fun planning--I love how great folks on the disboards are with sharing information and answering questions!

Thanks. I would love some advise.

This is our tentative plan.

Day 1 - Magic Kingdom (December 6, arrive in afternoon)
Day 2 - Animal Kingdom (December 7)
Day 3 - Hollywood Studies (December 8)
Day 4 - Magic Kingdom (early night we need to leave at 4 AM for the airport the next day).

One concern is the parade taping at Magic Kingdom on Saturday December 6. EasyWDW recommends strongly against going there that day. But Touring Plans has it at a 3 for crowds. Can we get around the crowds, ride some rides, and have a good time? We want to see the fireworks that night because Magic Kingdom will close for the Christmas Party on December 9th when we go back. We are skipping Epcot unless we end us with park hoppers and can hop over one evening.

I haven't bought tickets yet. We bought the airfare on a whim (for $100 roundtrip per person which was awesome). Then suffered from sticker shock when I saw how much we would pay for park tickets! So I wanted to try and buy the USSSA tickets that expire on December 31. But they are still not available. We missed the 60 day window for fast passes. But I will give up on USSSA and get tickets from Undercover tourist before the 30 day window.

Initially, if we just going to be us. So I made a reservation for Hollywood & Vine for just us 4 (our son LOVES Disney junior).

Since our family is joining us, I tried to find reservations for 10. I got Tusker House the day we will be in Animal Kingdom for 320, but was hoping for breakfast.

I think aside from these two reservations we will do counter service to save money and time and eliminate some of the preplanning.

We just had our first trip with Christmas decorations last year. You will have so much fun!

Hi everyone! I'm new to this posting, but currently planning a trip for 2015. Still trying to decide which resort to stay at. Looks like lots of great options.
