Connie Culp, the patient who received the first face transplant in the US, showed the world her face today. It's been a little bit over a year since the surgery.

Before the surgery, she could not breathe through her mouth, drink, eat, taste, smell, and she had no nose.
Today she can drink coffee from a cup, taste, smell, and breathe through her mouth. As her donor nerves rejuvenate, she'll be able to show emotion.

Amazing. Simply amazing.

I'm not sure actually. Don't take my word for it, but I think they might've. I know for a fact there was a double arm transplant either in Germany or on a German farmer. Or both.

that is incrediable. Its amazing what can be done these days and its great that that women will be able to go outside with being called a monster now. I'm sure her life will never be normal though...It never could be seeing as her husband did that to her...

She overdosed I believe, on heroin, was unconscious, and was attacked by her dog.

Whatever the drug was, the kids in my bio class hypothesized that it was because the drug was potent to trigger the dog's senses.

The Cleveland Clinic did this amazing medical procedure, they are truely amazing for doing this. I think Cleveland has the three best hospitals in america. The woman is truely an inspiration though.

The face transplant is just amazing. The things surgeons can do today, Wow. And this womans life is changed for the better for the rest of her life that is such a great story.

How do you figure that? They didn't clone her or anything. They gave her a new face when she needed one.

I am a firm beliver that everything happens for a reason and that everyone has a time to die. I hate it when people are run by machines, its just not natural. If God wanted her to have that face or was ready for her to die, then it was her time.


IMO, its just a bunch of surgeons looking for more ways to put off death

Except that she lost her face YEARS ago. If she was supposed to die, she would have died then. She was meant to have that face.

She was meant to have the face she did before the transplant. I just dont think God intended for face transplants, or artificial hearts, or life support IMO
