First ever trip report

HI everyone as I'm new at this I will do my best and feel free to ask any questions.
On this trip was Me my son and my sister and joining us was my brother and his girlfriend
We had two seperate rooms and where on the dining plan we had a 6 day park hopper with waterparks and more passes

Sunday July 22 5 am we woke up and headed out to the airport in a limo my brother rented for us. We get to ORD and my son still thinks we are going to Wisconsin dells because mom told him there was an Orlando Wisconsin so that we can suprise him. We get to MCO and I hand him a card that read like this
Sometimes wishes do come true Love grandma and grandpa( They paid for this return trip) I tell him to take the sticker off so he can wear it and when he did this under the sticker was the words welcome to Disneyworld. He was in shock and just would not speak. When we got up to the ME busses he started silently crying and when I asked him why he was sad he said hes not sad he just thought I was joking about being at disneyworld again so the tears where ones of pure joy

We get on the ME and head to Pop cent resort and we get a room ground floor in the lady building connected to my brother and his girlfriends room.
We change and head out to typhoon lagoon its about 12pm and we stayed there until 8pm closing time then changed and headed to dinner at the concourse steakhouse. After dinner we went to MK to show him virtual magic kingdom and turn in our quests and the lady behind the counter gave him tons of cards and I guess some where rare because my son was saying thankyou thank you over and over and saying it was the best time ever on a whim we stayed to enjoy extra magic hrs but my little man fell asleep so we ended early and went back to the hotel to get some sleep

Monday July 23
We woke up later then normal and headed to Disney quest after yesterdays mayhem of waiting for 45 mins for a bus to downtown disney we just took a cab for $ 8.00 the buses at pop to get to and from the downtown area where really really bad this time. We spent a good 2 hrs at Disney Quest and my son liked it well enough except for the height restrictions on the interactive rides.After DQ we took the bus to the contemporary and rode the monorail into the magic kingdom. We went on tom sawyers Island and pirates and fast passed big thunder for later that night. I had dinner ressies for 9pm at CRT but we ended up being seated at 9:30 which was what turned out to be the best night ever. Since we ate dinner so late they seated us at a big table for 6 right by the windows and what I did not remember was wishes starts at 10 pm so when I heard the music I asked the waiter If we would be able to see the fireworks and he points to the big windows we are right by and says yes just as the first firework went off. We had a sitting clear view of the fireworks from inside the castle it was pure magic. My son put his little hands on the window and said he could feel the fireworks we got it all on tape an next time we eat there it will be a late dinner for sure. After CRT we hung around the park till closing and then slowly walked out no rush to get to the packed buses.We headed back to the resort What a great day and the weather was rainy but it stopped. The crowds where huge but the lines where not bad.

Tuesday July 24.
Woke up and headed out to blizzard beach it was so hot. We took the chair lift to the top of the mountain and I can say never ever again that is one scary view. We rode the family raft ride 2 times in a row before it got busy and my family laughed the whole way down. My son loved the play area for the kids but we had a fright My son cant swim even with the life jacket on he freaks so Im always buy him trying to teach him to swim but its slow going. He wants to go on this tube slide so in the kids area so I look at the bottom of the slide area and figure when he comes down I will reach out and grab him to pull him to the side and then out of the water he will come. He comes flying down so fast he goes under the water and me freaking because I cant reach him I jump in the water so fast the lifeguards did not have time to react. When I jumped in I did not realize its 8 feet deep there so I sunk to the bottom. I got him to the ladder climbed up and was skaking from pure adrenaline. He was ok but decided that ride was too much so we stuck to the kiddie slide that mommy could catch him on and we had fun.

We left Blizzard beach early to head to MK to go do splash mountain and then took the boat to the wilderness lodge to go eat dinner there at Whispering cayon cafe. The dinner was good we had the all you can eat skillet the service was bad it took forever to get another drink but its the busy time of year so we forgave and forgot.From WCC we headed back on the boat and went to Epcot for there EMH's we got there so late we only had time to do test track but it was still worth it.After EMH we went back to the hotel for sleep.

Wens July 25. We got up and headed to animal kingdom it was a hot day and it was packed but we did manage to do everything we wanted. When we got there the everest fast pass machines where not up anymore so the standby line was 90mins and then it started raining so we got a fast pass instead for the safari. He played in the bone yard and we went on prime evil whirl my sisters favorite ride there. We went to the conservation station and my son picks up the elephant dung they have on display and asks the guy if anyone ever tried to take this home the guide just starts laughing and says I don't think anyone would want to take home elephant poop. My so is interested in it so he has me take a picture of him with it LOL

After playing in the conservation station we used our fast pass for the safaris and as it was right after the rainstorm the animals where out in force we came close to rhinos and a giraffe so it was very cool. It was about 7pm so we decided to just wait for everest as the line went down to about 35 mins. He was scared of the noise and kept thinking the yeti was the real deal what with the things they had on display. We rode it and he loved it and wanted to go again so we checked the line and sure enough it was walk on with about a 10 min wait so we went again and again and again just kept going around with little to know wait and the last time we went on we got the front row boy was that a rush. After animal kingdom we hopped over to the animal kingdom lodge to take the bus to MGM studios for a late dinner As we are at the resort my sister states that maybe we should skip next yr and save up money and come to this lodge so now I'm researching the cost and the best time to stay there. We get to MGM and eat at Sci-Fi it was a very cool dinner and our server was the best I have ever had. After dinner we stayed for EMHs and rode tower of terror for our first time ever and my son wanted on star tours over and over again so we went with him. We took my brother and his lady friend to the Disney dance party they have at night and my son and family did the cha cha slide dance with Goofy Minnie Mickey and Pluto what a great time.We stayed until it closed then went back to the hotel to sleep.

Thursday July 26 We got up at 9am and took a taxi to Universal studios where it was all new to us I like the park and thank goodness I bought express passes for that day almost all the rides we went right on using the pass where 60-90 min waits and we used the pass to just walk right on. We did Universal first he thought the rides where way to loud and got scared on earthquake started crying so I held him and it all turned out ok. We where able to go on all the rides we wanted as soon as we walked up his fav thing at this park was Donkey from Shrek We spent 5 mins talking with this puppet and it was the highlight of the trip for my son. We had a quick snack at that park then headed out to Islands of adventure.

Islands of adventure was nice What I really like about the parks here is its hard to get lost one part flows into another and if you do a circle you can see everything in order. His favorite thing here was the Jurassic park play area he loved the water area and was squirting new friends left and right he spend one hr in here just laughing and playing and I got to sit and rest my feet and take tons of cute pics. After we used up all the express passes on every single ride but the coasters and he was too short we headed back to the resort making the taxi driver take us first to McDonalds.

Friday July 27.
Had the maid come in and change our bed sheets and everything as we woke up itching all over and my sister said it might be bedbugs uck. We went to typhoon lagoon again today but did not stay that long just went swimming and went on slushing gusher our favorite water ride there.

Went to Mk at about 5pm and ate dinner at 9pm at Tony's then Went out to enjoy extra magic hrs. We rode everything at least once during EMH and my son lost his loose tooth it had been jiggly for a month now and mom was on the indy speedway with him doing the gas pedal. When it was time to stop mom did but still bumped the car in front of her and his tooth hit the stearing wheel and out it came.The last thing we did was go on space mountain for our first time ever and we got a fastpass for that which I was shocked they where offering them during extra magic hrs but I guess it was because the crowds where huge and it never died down. No worries we got on everything and Got out of the park by 2:30 am. As we where heading to pop bus we saw a bunch of people at the stop all in wheelchairs and since no one was around I decided it would be ok for my family to race with the chairs well when we did this and I was lining up everyone a couple of different adults came to the stop and wanted to join in so we had about 15 adults with there kids looking on and laughing getting ready for a race.All and all it was a great night and yes we put all the wheel chairs back in order when we got on the bus.

Sat July 28.
My son said he wanted to see Epcots countries as my brother and his girlfriend went there on Thursday. I never thought he would like the countries but he did One thing I did notice is alot of teenagers on those ECV's and they where crashing into things in epcot it was nuts.




We saw the countries then hopped on a boat to go to MGM just to play in the honey I shrunk the kids movie set as my son loves to go there and the other night it was closed when we got there.After MGM We headed out at 6pm for our Dinner at Chef mickeys where I met another diser she told me I was wearing way too much lime green not to be noticed LOL.AFter chef mickeys we headed into the MK to say goodbye to the mouse. Heres the bad part I always let my son run ahead to the bathrooms as he goes in and comes right out we have a system since I'm a single mom and hes all I got. We went into the big fast food place at tommarrow land and I told him to go ahead as he had to go really bad he runs ahead and I tell him mom will be right here by the tables. My sister tells me shes got to go too so Off she goes as I wait for my son. She comes back and asks where shawn is and I lost all my breath I had this feeling he was gone. I ran to where the bathrooms where and sure enough theres another hallway and I get this feeling he went out and went the wrong way out of the bathroom. I scream to my sister hes gone help me!!! she runs right in the mens bathroom and yells shawn!!! Im crying and remember to go back to the spot I last saw him and I start yelling while my sister is running around this place also yelling. A cast member comes up to me and I tell her hes gone and show her the picture I took of him today and what hes wearing I cant even think straight. Five minutes go by with me crying and just then I hear a scream MOMMY!!!! and here is my son running to me open arms and tears on his face with cast members following behind him. I hugged him so hard right there and then I dropped to the floor in front of everyone and just held him crying hes all I got and one stupid mistake almost cost me my kid. The cast member tells me he was found walking alone by her and that the only reason she found me was because of my bright neon arm band that I was wearing (a lime green arm band) and that he had one too and he told the cast member Im pooh sized with the same colored band as him. My son later told me some lady walked up to him and pointed him to a cast member when he was lost and when I asked him who it was he said he could not remember but the cast member I talked to said he was alone when she found him as it was late.When we got home from the trip as weird as this all is too you he saw a pic of my grandmother and me on the wall at my parents house and without saying anything else said that is the lady who pushed me to a cast member mommy and he had no clue that was my grandma who passed away before he was born. Call me nutty but I do believe in guardian angels. After that mishap we stuck together like glue and I brought him with me in the ladies room for the rest of the trip and anyone who gave me nasty looks for bringing my son into a ladies room with me got a look right back there was no way I was letting him go alone again.The last hr flew by and we decided to end the night with the 11pm parade which we watched from frontier land where it was almost empty got to sit down right on the curb and see the parade no waiting no crowded walkways nothing.Snow white walked up to my son and kissed him right on the forehead and Minnie was waving and blowing him kisses so he had a great rest of the night. We got back to the hotel to shower and bed and wake up early to pack up and go home.

Sunday July 29, Woke up at 6 am to get our bags down to airline check in I grabbed a luggage cart as no one offered to help us with the bags and we wanted to take some pics around the resort.As we are setting up the cart the cart somehow buckles and cuts my sisters finger like a knife it was a deep bad cut. I hurried and wrapped it with paper towels and had her sit for bit I run and get band aids and such to stop the bleeding. As I get my son up to leave I notice his back is covered in bites and I flip back the cover and bedbugs all over the place all over him so I hurry and throw him in the shower get my bags out of there and go to the front desk to tell them of my sisters injury and of the bedbugs which where so bad I still have bites.They say there sorry for my sisters cut and offer band aids to which we just said no and then I tell them about the bedbugs and they say they will get right on it. We end up eating a big breakfest as I was on the dinning plan so we had counter service left over and then we board the sad bus for the way home. When we got home I left my luggage outside and now I'm washing everything that came in contact with that nasty room. Next time we stay I will check over the room before anything that was bad. All and all I cant complain I'm in love with Disney and am already thinking of the next trip.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! Your generosity and kindness has touched my heart. I cannot even begin to tell you how sweet and unexpected your gift was, I'm still crying. My sweet little guy finally feels like there is magic in his world again. After everything that he's been through that is priceless. His world was shattered 5 months ago and I finally see a glimpse of the carefree, trusting little man that he was before. I never imagined that by asking a few questions on the dis that my son's spirits would be lifted and we haven't even made it to Disney yet!! There are still some truly good people in this world and you are at the top of that list!! I wish you all the best in your life and I hope that someday I can make a difference in someone's life like you've made in ours.! You will be in our thoughts always!

For those of you that are wondering what the above poster was talking about. She had asked me to send a postcard to her boy from Disney world signed by Donald duck his fav character. When I was looking for postcards I also without her knowing had my son pick out Donald type things her son might like And we sent something extra to her boy. The people here on dis have helped my son a lot over the past days and everyone is so nice I figured to pay it forward with some magic of my own. Heres hoping everyone keeps the magic going and may you all have the best vacations ever.

That was a nice report. I can't get over the Disney collection you have, wow!
I cried for you when I read about your son disapearing, I felt your anguish I guess you could say. I once thought my son had been taken from the house when he was 2, turns out he crawled out of bed and fell asleep in the brown arm chair, his hair and jammies were brown so he blended in great and I didn't see him, he never woke up when I was franticly screaming for him, I even swivled the chair around to look behind it, never saw him laying there, I called 911 (I was a single mom at the time too) a neighbor came over to watch my baby girl (6 months) it was the neighbor who found him asleep, I felt like an idiot but so over joyed that he was there. I don't have to tell you the thoughts that run through a mothers head when her child is missing.
I believe in guradian angels whole heartedly and how wonderful that it was your grandmother who pointed your son in the right direction. That was a great story, one to put in a scrapbook.
