First ever Second trip to the Fort

Friday I don't really remember what we did, but I seem to recall some cousins from Scotland and eating leftovers in a kitchen that looked just like my Moms in the Sixties (we are country folk and behind at least a decade).

I do remember fishing tho

and wandering around

another Great day at the Fort

Saturday we headed over to the Magic Kingdom for lunch at Be Our Guest, I really like the way the magic bands worked for lunch, you order and pay then just go sit where you want and a nice person brings your food to you, just remember, Mickie is watching, always watching........

The food was very good but the castle was a little unusual,

There was a thunderstorm outside one room,

A snow storm outside another, (just in case the folks from up north get homesick)

and blue skies outside,,,, go figure...

Another great day at the Fort

Sunday we dropped over to the Brown Derby Lounge for lunch. I enjoyed the meal and it was just the right size, with dessert of course.

I had the lunch Cobb Salad

IMG_1434.JPG

and L had the sliders

as we were looking around we saw these guys at what looked like a campsite

But I don't thinks that is an approved fire pit.....

Ended the day fishing at the canal, listening to the sing along through the woods, and hearing the steam train whistle in the distance...IMG_1440.JPG

another great day at the Fort

Goofy14sure, love the food pictures (especially the Fort ones).

But.......

Maybe it's just me, but I tried the "world famous" Cobb Salad years ago and was underwhelmed. And the picture there looks about the same which is not very appetizing. I know its backstory, blah blah blah, but you helped me be sure I'm not missing anything by continuing to skip the Cobb. The Brown Derby might have other worthwhile dishes but again, for me, that's not one of them.

Carry on!

That was a Cobb salad??? :confused3

I didn't read the caption and I was trying to figure out what it was. Wow.

Now the sliders...

I agree that the Cobb salad is overrated. It's a good salad but not the best I had this trip (and I spiced it up by adding a tomato from one of the sliders)

The best salad of the trip goes to the Mediterranean salad at the village haus and it's quick service!

Well I'm finally over the Disney hangover and finishing my trip report for my first ever second trip to the Fort :o

I left off on Sunday with fishing on the canal and on Monday decided to do some looping, I didn't have a golf cart but I found some transportation,

We saw this vintage camper

and these Yurts

and some tent campers

We had lunch with Pooh and friends at the Crystal Palace, it was OK for a buffet.
This guy stopped by for desert

That afternoon it rained again and continued off and on all evening. During a break in the rain I returned the internet box to The Meadows and looked around and did some more looping (I looped in our truck, and it's diesel, but it was well after 05:30 :-)) I rode through looking for the Dis folks that were there, but I didn't see anyone, I did see some great sites tho, I really liked this one!

This was our last full day and another Great Day at the Fort

Really appreciate the time you took. Thanks for the pics. Looking forward to some more of your adventures in the future.

Hi! First post here. I'm goofy14's wife. I just want to add that we spent 10 days at Fort Wilderness in February. We LOVED the Fort. Goofy14 uses a scooter to get around the parks. We found taking the boat to the Magic Kingdom did not go well at all. To put it mildly. This trip we drove to the TTC and took the monorail to MK. What a wonderful change! The monorail cast members were unfailingly GREAT to us. I just wanted to add this in since we were so pleased about it. I hope we can make it back to the Fort this fall. And we will bring oatmeal to feed to the squirrels. They liked it this last trip. Love this board!
