First-ever ressie waitlist!

We are booked OKW for a weekend in November, but are on a waitlist for BCV or VWL. We've never had to waitlist before so pardon me if I sound a little neurotic, but I have a couple of questions:

Exactly how does this work? Should I be calling periodically to check on availability? If one of the resorts becomes available, does MS transfer you automatically? How am I informed if this does happen? My fear is that I'll show up at OKW and find out my ressie was changed to VWL!!

The CM usually asks you if you want to be automatically transferred if the requested accomodations become available, or if you wish to be telephoned prior to them putting you in. They will hold the request until you call back -- usually within a 24 hour window. When we have had to be away, from the phone (weekend getaway, etc.) we have called and told them to automatically put us in the requested unit if it comes up.

In all the years we have been waitlisting, we almost always get it. So relax and take heart in the fact that even if you don't get your first choice, you're still going to DisneyWorld!

I've had it work so that I'm at BWV with my guests, at first we were in SSR, but my wait for standard view hasn't come through.
