Hey guys!

We had to cancel our reservations the other day. It was a hard decision to make, but with budget cuts in education, my job is in line to get cut also my DS8 has a lot of medical problems and it just wasn't the right time to be away from him, he is getting ready to start some new medications and therapy and it is not cheap...

So it with tears in my eyes that I have to write this and let you know we wont be going.

But I do know you guys will have fun and we will hear all about it.

We'll miss you.:sad1:

Oh i'm so very sorry to hear this MommyC! :sad1: Please keep us posted on your son's progress with the new meds!

Just know that you'll be with us in, uh, spirit...:rolleyes1

ooooohhhhhh . . . . I know what you're thinking!!!!!

Psst . . . Great idea!!!!

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Who? Me? :rolleyes1  :rolleyes1  :rolleyes1

Great minds think alike.:thumbsup2

Picard...no contest there. Then, I would have to say Janeway.

Picard! I think Patrick Stewart is just about the most handsome man.

Oh and for those Twilight fans -

I have finally caved and bought Twilight and New Moon.

I have been wanting to read them but I just hadn't been able to go get them!!

I'm sure I will in a reading frenzy later!!!

You'll love it! Welcome to the sparkley side! :rotfl:

Oh yeah and if the Star Trek movie is showing on the Wonder, we'll go see it. We're Trekkies! At least Trekkies in the sense that we liked all the TV series, and the movies.popcorn:: I hope I'm not scaring anybody away!

if there are any other Trekkie fans out there, who's your favorite captain? The choices are: Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway & Archer.
~Kim

Seeing the movie on board would be SO COOL! Capt. Picard, hands down.

I was planning on it. But I didn't take into account the space required for FE stuff:sad2: :guilty: But I was a pirate on Halloween because of the cruise.

Dress up, you know you want to!

I bought the Twilight book yesterday so I can know what everyone is talking about. Now I just need to find time to read it.

Once you start, you're hooked!

I'm reading Breaking Dawn now.....

I really liked it. I hope you do, too!

How many other people are planning on getting "dressed up" for Pirate night?pirate: pirate: pirate: (And no Brandie, my kilt doesn't go with my pirate clothes.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:)

A kilt goes with everything! :goodvibes I'm wearing my skirt with skulls and roses on it and DH has a pirate Tshirt.

Nope...that's Tuesday...right after underwater basketweaving, but before Kevin's torch singing demonstration.

That's great 'cause I'm a bit behind on my basketweaving.

Hey I'm a scrapper tonight. Wifey has me at the Cricut machine. I'm cutting Minnie heads right now.

What can I make for you? :goodvibes

The Cricut machine is the best. What a good DH you are. :cloud9:

Just started making my way through thread 3 (sorry, skipped 1 & 2).
Thought I would post and say......

WE'RE COMING!!!!

3guysandagal and Katscradle - John, Katherine, Kenny, Johnny - second - (6, 11) - First cruise!!

Now back to page 3.....

Good luck! What kind of camera? I keep trying to get good fireworks photos and have only had mixed success!

I use a Nikon D50. Set ISO to 200; white balance to the little light bulb thingy; focus on the castle and then turn auto focus off. Shutter speed was about two seconds, but I think that was a little long. Also brought tripod. DH was my keygrip and carried it around for me. :cutie:

Out of literally about 50 pictures, these three were the only fire works shots that came out halfway decent. I've got to try a tri-pod next time!

That happens to everyone, but the tripod is key!

Here are a few of my best efforts. If I never watch fireworks from the Hub again it'll be too soon. I forgot how much I hate people. :lmao: I mean let's just look at the jacka... in the Mickey ears. He's seven feet tall in those things. Heellllooo! And then in many of my good shots is a jerk, I mean very nice fellow, with his camera and all I see in my photo is his review screen lit up. And his camera is so cheap he's never going to get the shot! Don't they notice the frustrated woman trying to take her pictures over here?! Can't they just put on Wishes just for me? Don't they know who I am? :lmao:

Whew, now I think I'm caught up~

I just wanna point my camera and take a friggin' fireworks picture. I don't have time in the parks to be foolin' around with buttons and dials. I'll never get a decent fireworks pic. I've come to realize that. It was hard to come to terms with it but I have.

We can sign kids up for the clubs 75 days out, correct? My DS will have just turned 5 by one week- can he still be with the younger group? I don't think he will be into the older kids activities.

I think I asked this before, but I can't remember, which means I can't remember the answer either. :sad2:

Sorry if this isn't on topic enough.. but I could use a little help/opinions.

We are visiting KSC pre-cruise. Hubby's dream.. I cannot deny him.:love2:

Anyhoo. I'm looking into booking a hotel for Friday May 8th-10th.. just a short 2 nite stay.

Mousesavers recommends Four points by Shearton and I got a quote of 80-90/per nite. Pretty good?
Anyone w/ comments/suggestions/words of wisdom.

TIA

I have heard good things about the Four Points, but also the Radisson and Country Inn and Suites.

Your kids are already signed up for the age group that they are in at the time of the cruise. To get them into a different age group will be up to the counselors when you get onboard. At 75 days you can preregister them (there are some questions and information the counselors will need. If you don't do this online, you'll have to do it on the ship when you board). Just ask the counselors in the terminal (all the way at the end on the right when facing the ship after you check in) or once onboard and they will get him into the right group.

We have to sign our kids up for the kids' clubs? It's not just an automatic that they can go?

The can automatically go, but you have to register them. The counselors need to know stuff about them before they go. If you don't preregister them online, you must register them onboard.

It's kind of like taking them to school. You don't just drop them off on the first day and say "hey this is Billy. See ya later". You have to give certain information first. They are able to participate whether or not you sign them up in advance, but you do need to sign them up.

For those who have never cruised on Disney with kids before, when get to the port or onboard, you will go and check in to the clubs. They will give your child a wristband (this is supposed to be changing but don't know when) and give you a beeper (if the kids are under 11). This way if the kids have a problem or need you to pick them up, the counselors will page you so you know.

Again, the kids have already reserved a place in the clubs so there is no chance of them not being able to go, you just have to register them.

Thanks. I assumed they'd need some info. Like keep the redhead away from sugar at all costs :) I just wanted to make sure that I didn't have to rush to get them a spot. Thanks again for all of your time you are taking to answer all of these questions.

Thanks for the info Tracy. We'll be sure to sign up our Daughter Anna, who will be nine at the time of the cruise, for the Oceaneer's Lab. Do you pre register your child on the DCL site?

I enjoy trying, but I've realized I can download them from a million different websites if I really need them :)

OMG Lauren those were some great fireworks shots! Awesome. :goodvibes

What Cricut machine? I know not of what you speak. (Paul is this better?) ;)

I'm sorry Paul can't DIS right now, he's crocheting doilies . :rolleyes1 :lmao:

does anyone know the route and how long it takes to drive from wdw to the port? and what time we can get into the parking lot at the port?

Yes, you will be able to preregister Anna after the date that you can preregister (February 24 for new cruisers). This is also the date you can complete your documents online (basically preregistering yourselves).

does anyone know the route and how long it takes to drive from wdw to the port? and what time we can get into the parking lot at the port?

Yes. I take Highway 417 to Highway 535 (Beachline) to the port. It takes a little more than an hour once you get out of Disney property. These are toll roads (need help for the exact amount but it wasn't more than $4-5). The other way to go is I4 to Highway 535 (Beachline). Personally I think there's more traffic this way, but the locals would know better on this. The way I go is the way that the DCL buses go.

The parking lot doesn't open until at least 10:00 am and sometimes not until 10:30 am.

Ok, I had to recheck the list on page one because someone informed me their name wasn't there (I swear I put it there before - maybe the Tag Fairy took it away or something instead of giving me a new tag - mine are very old).

Anyhow, I took out Mommycerratops and added one, recounted and ... We're at 100!!!

I still have to verify that no one on the list has dropped out but for this one moment in time we are at 100!!!
