OMG! Someone call 911. Something MUST be wrong with AskTracy or she would have answered this by now! :scared:

There are conflicting reports on checking a case of water with the porters. I think the offical line is they won't do it. People report on the cruise thread of just giving the porter a case of water and it showed up in their room. You can definitely carry on water. I did this is November. It was sort of a pain because it was so heavy and I only had about ten bottles.

I'm going to jump in here w/a cruise question - sorry to break up the fun ;)

DH drinks alot of bottled water and just asked me if I will be bringing it on the ship for him - so of course I will defer to this thread..... I am assuming we would have to pay for bottled water on the ship, so I am better off just bringing some w/us, right?

Someone correct me but I believe you have to pay for bottled water. Tap water is free. Someone made mention earlier DCL charges about $35 for a case of bottle water. :crazy2:

I'll be taking a case of water on board in a rolling soft cooler.

I don't know the money details, but I do know you can buy a case of water to be delivered to your stateroom. Bottled water does cost if you want to order it from room service.

You must pay for bottled water on the ship. The water from the taps though is very good. I drink a lot of water there and have never bought bottled water onboard (except before a couple excursions). You can buy bottled water and have a case sent to your room or you can pick some up before leaving the ship if you want. If you want to bring your own water aboard, the same applies as with liquor, beer or soda. You must bring it with you and not check it in. Sorry, I've always thought the prices on the ship were a lot (except when we went to Europe, then it wasn't too bad) so I don't recall what they were. I know in Europe we had a choice of brand of bottled water, but don't know if it is that way still.

Thank you for your concern. Keep in mind that I get up at 4:15 am nearly every weekday morning and usually before 6:00 am on weekends. By the time this was posted, I had a headache and went to bed a little early (I had inauguration overload yesterday). Once I saw the gown, it was off to bed for me. Not often will you see me answer a post after 9:00 pm and rarely after 10:00 pm. as I'm an early bird :goodvibes

4:15???? You poor thing. Do you just like to watch the sun come up? DH is a morning person, while the longer I sleep the happier I am. He goes to bed early, which might have something to do with his early hours. I could be up until 2 am. We're a perfect match :)

ARRRR! When will this month be over? First DD7 had pneumonia. So, she missed 3 days out of a week. Than last week we had 3 missed days of school, because of the cold. This week we didn't have school on Monday and now DD11 has bronchitis! My younger DD cries because she has to go back to school and can't miss anymore. DD11 cries because she's sick and can't go to school. Is it time for the cruise yet?

It looks like I'll be doing the same :thumbsup2 - thanks for the info

Thanks - I won't bother trying to check it in - lugging all that water around must have been a pain!

Thanks for the info as always, Tracy!

.....Now where was that link to the rolling cooler :scratchin

You're welcome. I really like it. It's sitting next to my luggage (yes, red Mickey luggage), ready to go.

LOL, I have the same luggage. Red set I got from disneyshopping a couple years ago.

This weather really sucks. It's a toasty 4 degrees with the wind chill. I've had enough!

At least we're not in Florida right now. It's SUPPOSED to be cold here. My sister is there right now, and I'm sure she's not enjoying her freezing cold morning at Animal Kingdom.

I was thinking we had that luggage, but our other set is red. Our Mickey luggage is an olive color. I like it, but one of our kids usually use it because it's smaller. That is our weekend trip suitcase.

I think i'm going to get new luggage. DH and I always take separate luggage anyway. The only piece that we seem to share is the rolling garment bag. and even that's not entirely necessary, at least for this trip. I'll take a dress or two for evenings on the ship, but I don't think he's bringing a jacket.

So i'm thinking about getting some really girly luggage. Like pink. Should I? Anyone use hardsided luggage? Do you like it?

We were down this same week last year and had a FREEZING morning at AK. You never plan for it to be quite that cold in florida so we didn't pack appropriately. As I recall, we didn't do Kali that day.

I just sold the last of my hardsided luggage. It was so heavy that it really limited how much I could pack in it.

Has anyone tried to flatten the famous rolling cooler? I'm not sure how this would work if it can't be flattened and placed in the checked luggage for coming down and going home. I am flying solo and being a chronic over packer I don't know how this could be a carry on.

I swear by TravelPro. Expensive, yes. But the brand new cheap stuff I had was nearly destroyed after three back-to-back trips (France, Spain and Atlanta). I have an older version of the current Crew line. Love it! It's durable and has held up well for the past 5 years.
