So, what do people call you, what do they scream when they see you coming....

Susan....

wahhaa.....Suuussaaann......

Sorry...had to get that out of my system.

We really are a bunch of enablers. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
So true! :lmao:

Susan, you have to check it out AK is awesome! It's one of our top 2 parks! :cloud9:

Alicia: Let me know how the other half lives. I don't know that I'll ever stay in that room! :rotfl:

I still can't believe we are staying there! :scared1: We are still staying at POP post cruise. I don't know how Paul is going to handle it. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I would like to try this someday also. You will have a great time. The AKL Club is probably the most popular one of any WDW resort. :thumbsup2

Another great thing about AKV Concierge is it's only 15 points a night!

We just booked a Poly concierge room for the night before the cruise. This will make the poly dole whip/ wishes meet a lot more convenient! It's almost party time! :cool1: Woot! :goodvibes

Congrats on the room change!

Forget Jellyrolls. Party at the Poly!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Kath and I were talking about this the other night.
By the time we get off the poly beach it will be about 10:30.
How do we get over to Jellyrolls?
Monorail to MK, bus to BW or BC?
MK buses will be packed, due to it closing right?
We cant monorail over to Epcot because it will be closed, as well.
So if we go to MK, we might be to BW by 11:00.
And then there is no guarantee that people will be let in at Jellyrolls.
If this is the case, then all those at the Epcot resorts are fine, but we have to get back to SSR, with no resort buses running.
Now, if we do get in, there is still the whole getting back to SSR thing at 2am, and an early morning to get out of the room and over to the port, probably with a hangover.

The cost aspect is also of concern.
We will not have our live in babysitter until post cruise, so those extra hours are gonna cost another $70-80, add the $20 to get into Jelly's, and about $40 for drinks, and a cab back to the room @ $15 (+/-),thats $155 more than if we just went back to the room at 10:30.

BUT!!!

If we were to grab a room at the DolFun for Sat night, that solves the transportation problem, but the cost factor now goes up the price of the room
at $130 + $140(no cab) = $270 for 3 hours of fun.
What is the hourly rate for fun? :confused3

But then again, doing that saves us the points for Sat night, and therefor means we will not have to rent/transfer 8 points to make up the difference for the 2 studios post cruise, saving about $80-90 there.

The only problem with this is that we were planning on storing some of our luggage at SSR during the cruise for when we get back, and we cant do this if we are at the DolFun.

Decisions, decisions................

I think Jellyrolls may have to be skipped.

:surfweb:

We are skipping JellyRolls. We want to start out bright and early on Sunday morning. :goodvibes

Hi Everyone :wave2:

I hate to be an old timer but we will probably skip Jellyrolls as well. We are going to head back to the Beach Club. We are going to want to get up bright and early as well. I guess it depends on how we feel.

I'm skipping Jellyrolls. With it being closing time at the Magic Kingdom, there will be huge crowds. It will probably take an hour to get back to the Boardwalk area. Since I will have to get up at 3:30am Saturday morning to get ready and go to the airport, I do not want to try and stay up until 2:30 am Sunday morning. That is almost 24 hours. I want to start out this trip fresh so I can end it exhausted. :rotfl:

I don't think we will be doing Jellyrolls either, but is is a nice "back-up" if we have bad weather and can't do Wishes in the rain. Deal?

Deal! :thumbsup2

I will post this over on the Poly thread as well.

So if it is raining, we meet at Jellyrolls, or the beach and then to Jellyrolls, or inside the Poly at a predetermined bar.......I mean place, and then over to JR's, Or just stay in that bar....I mean place in the Poly?

AAAARRRGGGGHHHH!! :scared1:

More decisions!

No, usually I scream "Yahtzee!!" ;)

She was grounded because she didn't turn in a book report for English. The teacher emailed me 4 days after it was due saying she had one more day to turn it in. I made her finish the Book report that night. She was up until 1:30 am doing it. Then she had 10 days no TV, INTERNET, video games, iPod as punishment. DD and Paul are super close. She's a daddy's girl all the way. On day eight of her punishment Paul says she can watch TV and listen to her iPod but she can NOT go online. She has a iPod Touch. She says OK and gets all choked up and says Thank you. She's very sensitive and hates when we're mad at her. We are very lucky and don't really have much trouble with her. Anyway, I left the house to go shopping. Paul goes in her room and she's online on her touch! Then she tried to tell him she wasn't online. He's super mad that she would betray his trust after the week we just had! Trust is a really big thing in this house.
We had the EXACT same problem!!! Must be the age :rolleyes1 DD15 lost her ipod touch after that for another 2 weeks and then I never gave her access back to our network. Mean mom. Teaches her to screw with me.

Us too. We signed up for Cape May Cafe for Sunday morning. I told DH - if we are going to be at the Boardwalk at 8am on Sunday, I can't be out after midnight on Saturday. I'm way too old for that and I don't want DD15 to take away my iphone or ipod if I stay out too late.

That's why I did not want to use DVC points for my pre and post cruise stays. Three out of the 4 nights are weekend nights. it would have costed 100 points for just those 4 nights. For me, it wasn't worth it. I'm paying cash with an AP rate for BCV pre cruise.

Tru dat. Expensive for our pre- and post- stays both on points, but I had points that were going to expire, so much of it felt "free."

I don't see Judy and me going to Jelly Rolls either. As far as getting back to the Dolphin, I think we will be taking a cab. Getting the monorail back to MK and then a bus will just be too much of a bother. Cab should only be $10 or so. I'm glad I have discovered the joy of taxi cabs on property. Going resort to resort is so much easier that way. I just budget for it. I'll be happy to share back to the hotel.

Kim

Congrats Paul and Alicia! Your going to love the Poly! I wish they would building a DVC there, its my fav resort with BC a close second. Hopefully I enjoy AK at much, haven't stayed there yet.

Shanan and I will be doing Jellyrolls for sure :thumbsup2 We're staying at DolFun, so transportation isn't an issue, and we just don't plan on sleeping for those two weeks anyways :rolleyes1

And Lauren, those pics are BEAUTIFUL, especially the second one; AKL is my second favorite resort (I'm partial to Fort Wilderness myself).

Bahamian ATM machines:

What are the banking hours and are there ATM's?

Banks are open Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. through 3:00 or 4:00 p.m. and on Fridays most banks are open from 9:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Many banks now offer ATM's that tender Bahamian dollars however there are a few, located in areas of tourism on the larger islands, which will advance US currency. ATM's are scarce in the out-islands.

ATM Machines
Most of the larger islands have ATMs located in airport terminals, branch banks, most casinos and other convenient locations. Most machines dispense local currency. Machines in casinos and at Rawson Square in Nassau dispense U.S. dollars.

Checks can only be cashed if they are drawn from a US bank. But currency can be exchanged at Guest Services.

Thanks Tracey, thats very helpful.
