CRUISE QUESTION!

Has anyone booked a car rental yet, I was looking again today and didn't see any good deals yet.

We've got one rented from Dollar May 8th-10th for $74 including taxes. We're happy with that price, but still keeping an eye out for better ones.

Not yet, but I am thinking of going with the suggestion of Priceline from here....offer $13-$14 a day....can't hurt right? Unless I can find another way to rent for that long without shelling out big bucks. I'd rather throw my money away visiting the Mouse than renting a car.

Per Tracy, all cruise questions go on #5.:rotfl:

I thought TSM was the Friday after the cruise - we can't do both at once!!

I know, but maybe some peeps aren't going to be at HS on Friday....There might be two events at once....or maybe TSM at rope drop, lunch at Beaches and Cream, Kim Possible in the early afternoon, and finish up the day with DATW?

:lmao: :lmao: What am I getting myself into.......

Per Tracy, please don't post on 5 until 4 is closed. No one listens to her :rotfl2:

Actually, I was looking for feedback from the non-Tracy posters anyway :thumbsup2

I have an Alamo rental for about $170 for May 8th-14th. We really have to do a bigger car or we can't fit all our stuff.

I noticed that if I look at the same rental now it is a lot more.

Wait was it Friday or Saturday....Saturday are morning EMH for HS......I thought that was the plan???

I really do need to put my spreadsheet on a flash drive, don't I George?

We usually get a mini-van and right now I'm seeing 500+ for the 8-15th..

Works for me!!

I was going to do AK that day but I can do that anytime!!

for those looking for flights, I just received and email that SWA is having a 'sale'. Our return flights dropped from $119 to $69. That's $200 for the 4 of us which should cover the rental car.

Glad you made it safe and sound though:thumbsup2

Yea...That should never be taken for granted.

:drive:
Part of me misses the drive to work. Listening to adult music, being able to think without the kids interrupting me. Then I remember the traffic and will gladly listen to Radio Disney and hear "Mommy" 100 times.;)

That's true...There's nothing like vegging out in the car while listening to sports radio or 80s music. Somtimes just having time to think can be rejuvinating.

Ditto. This one to two inches has turned into four inches by noon now. It was coming down hard and fast. It took me 40 minutes when it usually only takes 10. Not so much because of the bad weather - more because of the bad drivers.

People were moving slow this morning. Most of the problems were at stop lights. I'd see 3 or 4 cars moving through the intersection between green and red lights.

The arrival flight dropped to $64, but the return flight is still expensive.
Airtran is still ~$50 cheaper for me with times that I think will be better for my plans.

Ugh, that is a lot. I reserved a full size this time, but I prefer a midsized SUV. I only have one kid though, not 3.

Last time we rented Alamo there were Minivans in the compact spots. I wished I had rented the compact for $100 for the week.

Airtran charges $15 per checked bag now. It looks like you are still better off with them, but now we have to factor in that $15 for the 1st checked bag and $25 for the second checked bag.

I'm flying Airtran as well, and with the $15 bag fee I'm about $10 cheaper than SW.

That is awesome. There are Dings coming through from PIT, but only through April 29th.

Forgot about that, so I guess it works out to be $10 for me too. Not that big of a deal since I am flying solo. Guess I will have to look at the times better.

You can also check in from your return flight onboard or at the resort if you are flying AirTran. I did that once and loved it.

I'm still trying to decide where to stay post cruise for 2 nights. I'm thinking Pop but I don't know if I can pass up the dolphin at that rate!!
