I think we should have Family Day in August. August is severely lacking any type of celebration.


(I think it's sad that I couldn't name Ontario's Premier off the top of my head, I had to Wiki it....)

August is our Civic Holiday or Simcoe Day depending on where you live. If you want to see a good holiday list - I will try to find the list for Newfoundland - they know how to do it right!

I had a bad experience with your Civic holiday, well trying to come back to Michigan. Sat in line to cross the bridge for about 4 hours in Sarnia. There is no place to use the facilities until you get to the Duty Free shop. Not a pretty sight.

I had lunch with my Mom yesterday and the topic of conversation was the cruise. I mentioned DATW. Needless to say, she will not be participating. But she will be nicely dressed as she heads back to BWV in one of the many outfits she intendson bringing!!!!

4 hours in Sarnia was pretty lucky from some of the horror stories I have heard. I could've directed you to some good places. I used to have family in Sarnia. Ok, at least prettier places...with ice cream.

I tried to get the list for Newfoundland - the official list doesn't reflect what I experienced working with them in the '90's. They basically had every Monday off for July and part of August.

Happy Monday everyone.

My son doesn't have school today, and he is only in preschool. All the public schools around here run from before Labor Day until a couple of weeks into June. I don't understand the concept of starting two days before Labor Day and then having a long weekend right away.

All I have to do today is go to the gym. I better start making something up so I can get out of the house.
