Morning all! I am at work again today. DH & DD get the day off so I am sure they will have lots of fun without me. They managed to get the bicycles out yesterday. I hope they can get out again today. We are expecting snow on Wednesday.
I was really surprised to hear about MF.

I wish we had school. Our kids don't get out of school until June 8. They have to go back on that Monday. It will be completely worthless. But, June 8!!! They usually get out before Memorial Day.

I wish we were out June 8th We go until June 11th! Our governor saw fit to force us to start after Labor Day.

The Union contracts keep us here until mid June, but Granholm is forcing us to start after Labor Day!

Do you have your iten all layed out? You could be putting it in a spreadsheet and color coding the activities along with making laminated cards for each family member.

My sister's contract has a clause about the start day dependent upon the date of Labor Day. Something like if Labor Day falls on the 3rd or earlier, the school year shall not commence until after Labor Day. Then its a race for 185 days....

Its a strange holiday though when my grandson in TX doesn't get it off from school. Considering they had two very recent "commanders in chief" you would think they would observe the day.

That is likely a carry over from before the law was put in place. All the schools had until their next negotiations until it took effect. Unless she is at a private school then all bets are off.

In Ontario it is Family Day. The Provincial Government litearally made it up last year so we could have a holiday in February.

I think we should have Family Day in August. August is severely lacking any type of celebration.
