First Ever DISUnplugged Podcast Cruise, 11th and Final Thread

Is anyone bringing beach towels? I know we can use the towels onboard, but they aren't very big.

Kim

we can't wait to do ours with Andrea and Vinny on 5/9!

Same here Michelle - won't be long now!!

Only 3 more days to go and the weather has been miserable - the sun isn't even supposed to come out until maybe Friday - thank God we are leaving Thursday!!

Since we will be away for Mother's Day, we celebrated it yesterday with our traditional breakfast out at IHOP then, my dh and girls gave me my gift, and we just relaxed and hung out the rest of the day. It was really nice.

We are now in "excited vacation mode" I've woken up in the middle of the night two nights in a row now and I can't get back to sleep!! I cannot believe after 15 months its almost here!!

I don't want to waste the space. You can use as many as you want from the ship.

I love it! Today is dh's bday so I'll have to use that on him.

Ahhhh......the 4th is strong with this one!

Tell him Happy Birthday!!

Towels...when I was a kid we always got a new beach towel on a Florida trip...okay both times. When my sister & I went, we got towels again. I took DH on our honeymoon - I insisted he get a beach towel. We surprised DD with her first trip - DH surprised me by buying beach towels when we arrived....you get the picture.

I don't have room for more beach towels!

2 bags packed. Then DH finally agreed a new jacket was in order for him. So we got him a new jacket, new Hawaiian shirt, realized we didn't have a garment bag capable of surviving an airplane...

I have 2 more bags to pack, for the 3 of us. Not bad considering shoes, pirate gear & FE goodies. I divided the FE stuff between 3 of the bags and so far, haven't gone over weight. That should bring us in at 4 large suitcases, 3 carryons, and a personal item each. DH gets to carry the electronics, DD her stuffed animals and me - all the paperwork.

Now you tell us. I already packed three pair.

No room. But like Kathy I think it would be a great souvenir.

I do this, I love collecting beach towels from trips, we use them in the pool all summer!

I'm not bringing a towel. ......and I hope to find a big mug at DTD to use on the ship for soda/mixers.........if not, i might make a trip to Wally World for one.

We leave Friday on a 7am flight out of DFW- arrive at 10:30 and heading to DTD/Earle!

Still have to laminate some magnets and flatties this week. And print my mom's contract for her. otherwise, i am pretty ready other than getting the house in order for DH/DS.

i have too much stuff though. :rotfl:my huge mickey luggage is filled and will be checked. my medium mickey bag is filled wiht FE gifts only and will be checked (hopefully under mom or dad's name to avoid the huge fee!). Then i have two carryon's! I had to give the mickey cooler to my cousin to pack, i didn't have room.

Finally someone else that packs as much as I do!!!:yay::yay:

ASK TRACY or any one else,

does the laundry service on board offer ironing only? - DH will have a couple of shirts that are washed but will get creased in the suitcase and I don't want to be ironing while on board if I can help it :goodvibes

and we are planning on buying candy at a grocery store on our way from the airport, can you have candy in your luggage coming on and off the ship? Or would we have to leave it at the Dolphin?

TIA :thumbsup2

ah- congrats!

Hi Michelle. Wish we were doing the tour with you guys! :)

Kim

While I have some room to spare I'm not taking any towels. If I have to take four to make one from the ship I will. Or I will just drip dry. :dance3:

I am bringing 1 or 2 towels. The towels on the ship are just too small. I hate to take up the space, but I like having a towel I can actually wrap around me.

Last time at CC we didn't bring enough towels when we got off the ship and regretted it.

They do offer ironing only.

If the candy is packaged, yes you can bring it on and off the ship (for example fun size candy bars in an opened bag would be considered package, candy corn in an opened bag would not).

That's brilliant, thanks Tracy ;)

Is there anything you don't know :confused3

1. Make a countdown calendar. We will be doing that tonight. We only do it 5 days out officially, but I've been counting down unofficially for 15 months now.
2. Get lots of sleep leading up to the day we leave. We will go to bed an hour earlier than usual in order to be well rested for our trip. Late nights and early mornings can take their toll during your trip, but if you are well rested before you leave it does help.
3. Try not to get overly excited. I've found being overly excited can wear you down and weaken your immunity system. This increases your odds of getting sick prior to or during your trip. (Yeah, right...Good luck with this one )
4. Make sure you have all your reservation documentation and itineraries in a folder before you leave. Having all this in one place keeps us organized and worry-free. We keep it in our carry-on if possible.

Sage advice Aaron. :thumbsup2

I have laryngitis - Aaron's right - I hope I can talk by Friday. :confused3

Darn, I'll miss you.

Lauren - There is a bunch of us meeting up at DTD on Saturday at EoS at Noon. A little lunch, shopping at WoD and maybe a balloon ride before we head to Beaches N Cream.
