First evening meal for 2 as Mr & Mrs

I am trying to remember.....I think it was JandJ (J&J) whatever her screen name is, who had an intimate wedding and had a private dinner in their room just for the two of them. She said it was so romantic!

So what do DFTW expect those who have inteimate weddings to do in the eveing? Those who have big weddings can have a desert party of proper wedding reception party, but those of us who are doing a ceramony on our own can't do anything?! That's so unfair.

We had a post-wedding dinner at 'Ohana to celebrate with the 16 of us for my intimate wedding. It was great! We had a special Mickey cake I had delivered for my groom, opened wedding gifts, and we gave out wedding favors. It was perfect for a post-dinner celebration!! We wanted it simple, laid back, and fun!

We are getting married on the Monday and then flying to St Lucia on the Tuesday morning so we have to do any reception party on the day of our wedding.
Ideally I would like to have a romantic meal and a really good viewing of Fantasmic or Wishes.

Can anyone help me sort out what I can and can't do. There is just going to be the 2 of us.

I would ring the Grand Floridans Privae catering. Say to them you are getting married earlier that day and you are looking for a nice romantic meal for just the 2 of you and they will come up with loads of suggestions! It doesnt even have to be there - most deluxe hotels will arange things for you! Ive seem a couple having a private meal at the Yacht Club gazebo before!!

There's also they Grand1 Yacht - you can organize to have private catering on board and view the fireworks!

Not really - Intimate Brides can have dessert parties! They can also do private dining and have private rooms in many restaurants, you can even have characters in some loations!. The only thing they really are strict on is big private catering events - like having a DJ and dancing etc. anything like a "traditional" reception which was why in the end i went for a custom.

Thats why there is such a big price difference between them!

As its just the 2 of you, im sure you wont have any problems doing what ever you want.

Has anyone eaten in Palio in the Swan hotel? It's italian which my HTB loves.

DH and I have eaten at Palio's over 10 times, and are usually extremely happy with our meals there.

It is usually very quiet, and they have mandolin and violin players who walk around to each table and ask what song you would like to hear them to play. Then they stand at your table and play it for you. They are two older gentlemen, (brothers), and they are an absolute pleasure to talk to.

I've heard them play anything from Dean Martin, to the Star Wars Theme to Disney Songs. All were excellent!

I would recommend that you call Palio, and confirm what nights they are usually on the schedule.
